By the time they reached the plaque and took a picture, Luo Tianyuan was the only one who looked energized, whereas the children looked zoned-out and tired.

Luo Shuyan swore that she would never visit this place again.

Shen Yan glanced at her and expressed, ‘Don’t speak too soon.’

For the few days spent in Jing City, Luo Shuyan wasn’t as happy as she’d expected. She was the happiest when she boarded the train and when she alighted from it. Is this what traveling meant?

Whereas Shen Yan seemed to like Jing City.

Before leaving, the two children obediently folded their sheets.

They came to Jing City with a bag each, and left with multiple bags each.

Luo Tianyuan walked out from the elevator with the two children. The train was set to leave in around 2 hours, and they had more than enough time to reach the train station. However, unexpectedly, after a few steps out of the hotel, a sweet voice suddenly shouted, “Luo Tianyuan!”

The three of them instinctively turned around and saw a beautiful lady walking towards them from the hotel lobby.

Dimples appeared when she smiled and had very beautiful facial features. She was very charismatic and was dressed in a beautiful one-piece dress with long flowing hair. Luo Shuyan was immediately attracted.

She was too pretty, her beauty was comparable to that of the female celebrities on TV.

Luo Tianyuan seemed particularly calm. He politely said, “Yutong, long time no see.”

Qin Yutong had purposely switched shifts with her colleague yesterday to attend a gathering but she didn’t manage to meet the man she’d longed to see. She asked around and realized that he wasn’t attending the gathering. Yet, she also found out that he hadn’t left the city yet, so she purposely dolled herself up and rushed to meet him.

It’s been almost 8 years.

She thought that she would’ve met someone better, and that she would live a better life. However, after so long, she realized that the person she loved was the man right in front of her.

She didn’t know what she should do, but she wanted to meet him. If they could get along, she wanted to ask him if he regretted their breakup?

All the feelings that she had for him was amplified when she saw how mature and able he was. She realized that she still had feelings for him.

“Long time no see. I’m in the city to handle some personal issues and I heard from Guo Weikang that you’re staying at this hotel.” Qin Yutong waved at him and smiled, “It’s been a long time since we’ve met, if you are free, shall we have coffee together?”

Luo Tianyuan held Luo Shuyan’s hand. He knew that he couldn’t decline the offer, they had been close in the past after all. He didn’t have a reason to not meet her since she was the one who took the initiative to find him.

Nevertheless, it didn’t seem appropriate for him to act this way in front of the children. He gave it some thought and lowered his head to talk to his daughter, “Shuyan, go have a seat at the sofa in the hotel lobby with Shen Yan. Papa has to talk to this aunty for a bit, so don’t go running around and wait there for me, okay?”

Qin Yutong finally took notice of Luo Shuyan.

Or perhaps, she’d seen her long ago, but she forced herself to ignore the existence of the child.

The biological mother of this child was someone she didn’t want to think about. Logically, she shouldn’t punish the child for her mother’s wrong doing, however, she was a prideful woman, and she couldn’t act like a gentle person in front of the child of an adulterer.

She froze when she heard what Luo Tianyuan had said.

She’s never seen such a gentle and kind version of Luo Tianyuan. He was a successful and outstanding person; he never changed his plans for anyone, and never got upset over someone leaving his life. Although he had a warm personality, people could feel a distant aura between him and themselves. She thought that she knew everything about Luo Tianyuan, but it seemed like she didn’t.

His gentleness, love, and carefulness displayed at the moment didn’t seem like him at all.

Luo Shuyan wanted in on the tea, however, she merely nodded obediently and said, “Alright, there’s no hurry.”

Luo Tianyuan knew his daughter well, and could guess what she was thinking about. He touched her head and said, “Don’t wander around, wait for me at the sofa and I’ll be back soon.”

After he brought the two children to the sofa, Luo Tianyuan squatted down and reminded his daughter, “Papa will be around the area, if anyone approaches you with sweets…”

Luo Shuyan interrupted him and said, “I know, I shouldn’t talk to any strangers. I can’t accept sweets from them either. Papa, just get going, the pretty aunty is staring at you. You shouldn’t let pretty women wait for you, no?”

Luo Tianyuan looked awkward.

Qin Yutong was a sight to behold with her beautiful stature, and her eyes were entirely fixed on Luo Tianyuan.

She finally smiled when Luo Tianyuan approached her.

The two of them went to the cafe next to the lobby.

Luo Shuyan regretted being obedient. If only she didn’t obey her father’s commands, she would’ve been able to find out the relationship between him and the pretty lady!

She couldn’t suppress her urge to gossip. She nudged the shoulder of the boy next to her and whispered, “Guess what they’re talking about.”

“What happened between them? Why haven’t I ever heard about her from my dad…”

“Oh ya, my dad never talks about this. I only found out that Aunty Song and him were in a relationship because she came all the way to our house!”

“Wait no, isn’t my dad in a relationship with Aunty Song? What is he doing now?”

“Shen Yan, what do you think they’re talking about?”

Shen Yan happened to solve one side of the Rubix cube. He didn’t raise his head or stop his maneuvering and calmly said, “Do you want to know? I happen to know how to read lips.”

Luo Shuyan was shocked. She looked at Shen Yan in confusion, “Really? You can do lip-reading??”

“Mn, do you want to know? I’ll charge 10 Yuan for each word.”

“…”

‘What a horrible child!!’

Shen Yan finally felt at peace when Luo Shuyan remained silent.
