Luo Tianyuan had been a popular man in university. Qin Yutong, who was equally beautiful and smart as Luo Tianyuan, was also known as the most beautiful girl on campus.

She was elegant and kind-hearted. Her smile was stunning and blinding.

Her name was mentioned the most frequently in the boys’ dorms. Luo Tianyuan, who was a young cap in his early twenties, loved looking at beautiful women, like anyone else.

Sometimes, he’d take part in the discussion, however, he was different from the other boys because he had the chance to talk to Qin Yutong. They were in the same batch although they were from different faculties. The two of them would always be chosen as the MC for each year’s fresher’s night. Thus, they came to know each other. Qin Yutong smiled at everyone else, and would only blush when she saw Luo Tianyuan.

Luo Tianyuan was a gentle and righteous man. During one of the rehearsals, Qin Yutong wasn’t feeling well and almost fainted. Luo Tianyuan had carried her to the nurse’s office. They were a match made in heaven and no one thought that they would break up.

Qin Yutong ordered a cup of Jamaican Blue Mountain Coffee. She lowered her head and stirred the drink. She happened to meet Luo Tianyuan’s eyes when she looked back up and her heart raced. Despite that, she was no longer a young girl in her early twenties, and she knew how to hide her feelings. She pretended to be calm and nonchalantly asked, “I heard that you’re living in Ning City, how have things been?”

Luo Tianyuan’s mind didn’t seem to be on the coffee. “It’s been good.”

Qin Yutong felt like Luo Tianyuan deserved better. She never expected a capable man like him to settle in such a small city and waste his potential. He should’ve been living in the big cities and chasing his dreams.

Nevertheless, she was in no place to advise him about how he should live his life.

She figured that he was staying there for that little girl — his daughter.

Logically speaking, she knew that she shouldn’t hold grudges against the young and clueless child, but she couldn’t help but feel angry when she thought about the fact that Luo Tianyuan chose to live in a small city and live a normal life for his daughter.

“Are you still single?” Qin Yutong was immediately worried that Luo Tianyuan would misunderstand her and quickly added, “I’m just curious, I’m in no way asking for anything more.”

Luo Tianyuan didn’t overthink things either. He was honestly more concerned about his daughter’s well-being than the conversation they were having at the moment. “Mn.”

Qin Yutong’s feelings were all over the place. She couldn’t control her excitement and asked, “Why didn’t you remarry?”

“I don’t plan to remarry.” Luo Tianyuan raised his hand and looked at his wristwatch. He jokingly said, “My daughter and I will be depending on each other for the rest of our lives.”

Qin Yutong paused and looked at Luo Tianyuan with an odd expression.

‘He’s not planning to remarry?’

‘Is he kidding, or is he being serious?’ Qin Yutong realized that after the years spent apart, she could no longer understand the man.

This reminded her of Yue Xi, that vicious woman who got pregnant and forced him to marry her, to only give birth to the child and flee the country.

In the depths of her heart, she was not willing to believe that Luo Tianyuan had decided to not remarry because of Yue Xi. Qin Yutong couldn’t maintain her composure in front of the man she’d loved for years. She forced a smile and calmly said, “Are you and Yue Xi still in contact? Two days ago, I heard from my mom that she’s living a great life overseas, and it seems like she’s also gotten married.”

Luo Tianyuan remained calm and he didn’t seem surprised by the news. He picked up the coffee and took a sip. He smiled and said, “That’s good.”

Qin Yutong stared at Luo Tianyuan and tried to pick up any ill-feelings he might express on his face. However, he seemed entirely calm.

Luo Tianyuan truly wished the best for Yue Xi. After all, she was the mother of his child. When the two of them broke up, they didn’t owe each other anything. She also stated that if fate were to allow it, she would come back and visit her child, if not, she would never meet her daughter within this lifetime.

Qin Yutong wanted to question further, however Luo Tianyuan stood up and smiled, “Yutong, apologies, my daughter is still waiting for me outside. Let’s continue next time.”

After that, Luo Tianyuan took out a hundred Yuan bill and placed it on the table before leaving.

Qin Yutong stared dazedly at him.

The three of them boarded the train and they were noticeably not as excited as they first came.

Luo Tianyuan brought hot water back to the cabin and realized that his daughter was zoning out. He walked over and asked, “What’s up? Are you hungry?”

Shen Yan sat on the opposite bed and flipped through the newspaper. He looked up at Luo Shuyan, and continued with his reading when he realized that she was blushing.

There was no way she was hungry.

Luo Shuyan had eaten bread and drumsticks. She’d also had a bottle of soda when at the train station.
