Luo Shuyan could go against most of her father’s wishes, but she clearly had no chance this time.

The only bright side of this was that since she’s older now, the nurse could actually see where her veins were for them to insert the needle.

It was very difficult to insert a needle for babies. Thus, when she was younger, it was common in Ning City for babies to get scalp vein catheterization. As soon as they’ve determined that the baby needs a jab, the nurse would shave off a section of the baby’s hair. Unluckily, Luo Shuyan had experienced that awkward phase multiple times.

If she were a real baby, she wouldn’t mind, after all, she could happily shave off all her hair and still be cheerful. However, the issue was that she wasn’t an actual baby, and she couldn’t even look at herself in the mirror after she’d been shaved, if not, she would’ve been brought to tears by her ugliness.

While the nurses took Luo Shuyan’s blood, Luo Tianyuan stood next to her and placed both his hands on her shoulders to comfort her.

The outcome of the blood test was good and there wasn’t anything wrong with her. So, Luo Tianyuan didn’t have a good reason to force the doctor to do further tests. The doctor prescribed sleeping pills for children before the both of them left the hospital.

Luo Tianyuan had planned to bring his daughter for some good food. They could’ve gone to the western restaurant for some spaghetti. However, when he noticed his daughter’s tiredness, he had no choice but to change his plans. He squatted down and gently asked, “Do you want to eat out, or should we go home to eat?”

Luo Shuyan was in no mood to eat; she wouldn’t even be interested if it were a Manchu-Han Imperial Feast.

Luo Shuyan was still frightened over the death of “Luo Shuyan” from her dreams. After the whole sneezing issue and blood taking spectacle, the fear in her heart minimized. Instead, tiredness outweighed everything.

She wanted to go home and have Aunty Shen’s cooking, and then have a good sleep.

As for other issues, she figured that she would think about them after today. She didn’t want to torture herself any further.

“Let’s go back to eat. I want to have Aunty Shen’s egg noodles.”

“Mn.” Luo Tianyuan agreed. Even though the doctor had already confirmed that there weren’t any major issues with his daughter, he took notice of her frail frame. He patted his shoulder and said, “Come, Papa will carry you back home.”

“It isn’t far.”

“You don’t want Papa to carry you anymore?”

The disappointed tone in his voice was one of Luo Tianyuan’s best techniques. Luo Shuyan fell for it easily. Thus, without further ado, she hopped onto Luo Tianyuan’s back and hugged her father by the neck.

The back of a father was the safest place to be. Who should she fear if her father was with her.

Luo Tianyuan easily picked up Luo Shuyan and walked towards the car park. “You’ve lost weight.”

“HAHAHA.”

Even if she were to grow plumper, her father would still say that she’s thin.

However, he wasn’t lying this time. She seemed to have slimmed down a lot, her baby fat was no longer as obvious as before.

She fell asleep as soon as she got into the car; perhaps she’d been too tired and mentally shocked. Luo Shuyan fell into a deep slumber, and Luo Tianyuan saw his daughter sleeping from his back mirror. His heart ached; if only he knew about the happenings from the day before, he would’ve gotten off from work early to pick her up from school.

At the dining table, Luo Shuyan finished an entire bowl of egg noodle soup under the watchful eye of Shen Qingruo, Shen Yan, and her father.

The three of them, who had been worried sick about her, finally let out a sigh of relief. This was a sign that she was fine.

Shen Yan had written some notes for Luo Shuyan about the classes that she’d missed and had planned to go through them with her. After noticing her sleepy expression after her meal, he decided against it.

Luo Shuyan wanted to sleep as soon as she’d finished her meal. Luo Tianyuan found a book related to children’s illnesses in the cupboard and decided to double check. He believed in the doctors, but he also wanted to be extremely sure. He kept feeling that the doctors might not understand his daughter’s condition entirely, but he would.

Just as he was reading the book, he heard a knock on his apartment door. He thought that it was Shen Qingruo, however, when he paid attention, the rhythm of the knock seemed different. Shen Qingruo was a very gentle person, and since she knew that Luo Shuyan wasn’t feeling well, she definitely wouldn’t be knocking on their door so aggressively.

Luo Tianyuan walked to the door with that thought in mind. However, he never expected to see Song Wanqing at the other side of the door.

Song Wanqing hadn’t contacted him since he’d given her a piece of his mind, so he assumed that they were through.

And Song Wanqing thought the same.

She had been confused and angry for the past few weeks. Ultimately, her feelings got the best of her. She came to the conclusion that it was a good thing that Luo Tianyuan had no intention of marriage.

Based on the difference between their family’s finances, even if she were willing to marry him, her family would definitely object.

She herself knew that Luo Tianyuan wasn’t a suitable candidate for marriage. He came from a middle class family, and wasn’t particularly wealthy. He even had a child. What should she do if her parents stopped giving her a monthly allowance if she were to marry him? That wouldn’t work.
