The Moon Thief

Chapter 85: Struggle in the Mountains

When Heinald was swept back by the force of the collision, he flipped over the ground several times and crashed into a rock.

"Damn it!" Heinald grit his teeth in pain.

Roneg flapped his wings vigorously and took off. Every time he flapped his wing, a small-scale storm seemed to arise.

Heinald rushed to his sword, which was swinging quite far from him, and took it in his hand.

Meanwhile, Roneg threw another fireball towards him.

"Whisper of the Wind!"

Heinald was surrounded by the wind and dashed forward. Thanks to the wind that surrounded him, he glided quickly through the air and dodged the fireball.

When he landed on the ground again, he jumped with all his might and began gliding towards the Roneg.

Roneg opened his mouth wide to halve his hunt, who flying towards him in one bite. However, Heinald made a quick maneuver with the help of the wind around him and dodges the attack.

"Take this!" Heinald cried out and swung his sword though Roneg's right wing and chopped it with three move in a row.

*Wuuak!* Roneg screamed in pain and wagged his tail at Heinald.

Heinald immediately put up a defense with his sword, but the violent thrust sent him flying downward like an arrow.

"Wind of Aira!"

Heinald immediately used one of the oldest spells he knew, the wind spell, and greatly slowed his speed before crashing into the ground. However, when he hit the ground violently, there were cracks in the bones in various parts of his body.

The vast majority of Magical Beasts could not compete with an Ainsar in terms of magic usage. As long as Ainsars learned every element and every kind of magic, they could use it. However, Magical Beasts could not cast spells; they only used innate attacks that they based on the element they were prone to. For example, Heinald's fireball was a spell, but Roneg's fireball was his innate attack; It doesn't have a pattern like a spell does.

But what makes Magical Beasts really strong is their body strength. Those with a strong skeletal structure, such as Ronegs, stand out especially with their body strength. It would most likely be the end for an Ainsar to use pure body strength to fight a powerful creature like a Roneg without using magic.

Heinald grit his teeth and stood up before the Roneg could direct another attack at him.

Roneg's wings turned the color of a hot iron and began to blaze around. As he flapped his wings, the entire area was hit by a scorching wave of fire.

Heinald was able to neutralize this move easily using his spell called Frost Wave.

As Roneg fell to the ground again, flames began to dance in his mouth again. Flames flowed endlessly between his sword-like teeth.

"Fire Vines!" Heinald muttered a name.

Numerous burning vines came out from under Roneg and completely wrapped him.

"Predator Destruction!" Heinald immediately cast another spell.

-

As Roneg struggled to break free from the vines that had wrapped him, clouds of fire appeared above him, and tiny bits of flame began to rain down on him.

These small pieces of flame exploded as they fell on Roneg, creating shock waves and intense heat.

Since this Roneg was immune to fire, these two spells hadn't been able to deal much damage to him, but still managed to injure him. One of his eyes had burst and his wings were torn.

When Roneg got rid of burning vines, he had flashed out like an arrow towards Heinald with power from both his wings and legs.

Heinald reacted quickly, leaping to the right, thus avoiding being smashed by Roneg's saber-like teeth.

The stones were completely crumbled when Roneg missed him and bit the stone behind him.

"Lightning Spear!"

Heinald raised his right hand and a spear of lightning appeared above his hand.

As Roneg turned towards Heinald to attack him again, the Lightning Spear flashed out and went straight into the giant creature's mouth.

*Rynaaak!*

The Lightning Spear inside Roneg's mouth exploded, and violent lightning bolts began pouring out of his mouth.

Roneg's head could not withstand the violent explosions and exploded. Numerous pieces of teeth, blood, and flesh were strewn about.

The giant creature's headless body struggled for a while, then stopped moving.

Heinald took a Low Level Healing Potion from the dimensional pocket of his robe and consumed it. In a short time, he felt that various wounds and cracked bones on his body began to itch.

This meant that his wounds were healing.

Heinald wanted to leave the area without delay because in his battle with Roneg, surges of Magic Energy had spread to the surrounding area. These energy surges could attract some Magical Beasts to his area.

Despite the pain in his body, he clenched his teeth and continued on the mountain road. When he reached the end of the zig-zag path, he realized that his only option was to climb the rocks.

He found a spot against the freezing wind and waited there so that the wounds on his body would heal completely. He could very well warm up by using magic, but he was in a dangerous place and didn't want to waste his magic energy. These mountains were filled with dangerous creatures, and no one knew for sure when they would attack. If he stumbled upon one of them without having enough magic energy, it would be a disaster for him. Additionally, if he warmed up by using magic energy, the waves of magic energy emanating from him could be felt by the surrounding creatures.

So he grit his teeth and tried to endure the fierce cold.

When his wounds were completely healed, he began to climb the huge cliffs. More precisely, he started jumping over the rocks.

Using his spell called Whisper of the Wind, he managed to cross the mountain's huge rocks without difficulty and reached a spiral path again.

As he headed along this road, the surrounding coldness had become even more severe.

When he reached the end of the spiral path, he had managed to reach the back of the mountain. He could now see the pass leading to Mount Ariek. This pass was formed by the fusion of extremely large rocks side by side.

Heinald walked quickly and carefully towards the passage. When he reached the head of the rocky road, he was surprised by a roar that rang in his ears.

Looking around quickly, he noticed a Yeti standing on a rock above. This yeti was at least eight meters tall. The energy emanating from him showed that his spiritual energy was less than Heinald's.

However, in terms of body strength, this Yeti was far, so far above him.

"Again…" Heinald gritted his teeth and waved his hand. A flash of white light appeared on his hand, and then Embers appeared.

*Crack!* Yeti raised both his arms and slammed into the ground. At that moment, jagged ice crystals started to rise from the ground that were heading towards Heinald.

With a quick side step, Heinald dodges the attack and starts running towards the Yeti.

Yeti roared and raised his right claw. Yeti's claw turned into icy blades and began to emit a freezing aura.

Heinald sent Magical Energy to Embers in his hand, and the sword was wrapped in flames, emitting a scorching heat around him.

As the ice claw and the flame-wrapped sword approached each other, the two elemental energies first collided, and a fierce energy wave began to spread around. This energy wave was so strong that the surrounding snow and hundreds of pounds of stones were thrown into the air.

This clash lasted for a few seconds, but Heinald was the winner, and Embers overpowered the ice claw's Ice Element energy, destroying it and directly halved the claw.

Under normal circumstances, even a sharp sword like Embers wouldn't be able to damage these claws, but the sword was constantly draining Heinald's Magic Energy, causing it to burn with extremely strong flames.

*Woaar!* Yeti roared in pain and anger, his claw split by the Embers. He quickly waved his other claw, but Heinald had foreseen this move and was already prepared to retreat.

When Heinald withdrew, he immediately cast his spell called Fire Vines.

As the yeti prepared to run at him, he was suddenly wrapped by burning vines coming out from under his feet.

Fire Vines was undoubtedly one of the most useful spells Heinald knew. By blocking the opponent's movement - although not for very long - it gave time to make a move or preparation, hindering the opponent's move and at the same time damaging him.

Heinald managed to cast his Spiritual Spell-Death Ray quickly as the yeti tried to get rid of the vines that were burning him. The ray of fire that shot out of his hand instantly turned the snow on the ground into boiling water, and struck the giant creature directly.

Although the Yeti had managed to escape the vines that had wrapped him at the time, he had been directly hit by the Death Ray.
