The Place Where Everything Begins

Chapter 177: Jeremy's Adventure (3)

Within an enormous cave deep below the ground...

The sounds of combat boots hitting against the rocky ground rang out within the quiet underground hall as Jeremy hadn't intended to hide his presence in the least.

Having heard the footsteps echoing out from somewhere not far from it, the Amorphis that was about to gulp down another mouth full of mushrooms and rocks promptly stopped its action as it turned its big head towards the source of the noises.

Upon turning to its left side, it 'saw' a tiny figure strolling in its direction with a long object supposed to be a weapon within its hand.

In fact, a youngling of the Amorphis race, just like it, didn't have an eye or ear as the thing it actually 'saw' was akin to sonar waves generated from the source of the sound, subsequently creating a simulated picture of the surrounding inside its big brain.

That meant the louder a noise was, the clearer the picture an Amorphis would be able to depict within its mind...

At this time, the noise coming from Jeremy's combat boots seemed to echo on every corner of the underground hall, making the 'young' Amorphis see the incoming human somewhat apparently.

When the giant Amorphis saw the small creature coming in its direction, it promptly got delighted as it would finally get its first 'fleshy' meal after it was put into this cramped cave.

After all, an Amorphis was still considered a carnivore that could eat both meat and other natural resources. That simply meant it would obviously become elated if it could eat something delicious. It didn't want to always eat its own's secretion and rocks all the time...

The reason why the Amorphis felt delighted to finally get some fresh meat to eat was that it was 'programmed' to be unable to leave this underground hall.

At most, the thing the Amorphis could do was to go up to the ground above, lingering within a limited area around the holes, before having to come back down and eat the same old mushrooms and rocks within this place.

"Kruuuuaahhhh!"

The enormous earthen worm opened its mouth and shouted in excitement as its voice resounded boisterously within the hall.

The Amorphis was ready to wiggle its twelve-meters long body towards its prey anytime now.

Simultaneously, Jeremy was also ready himself as he started increasing his speed bit by bit towards the giant creature before him.

Step by step...

Jeremy's speed gradually became faster and faster as the Amorphis' countless legs also started to move, intending to crash with the small creature before it.

As Jeremy was sprinting at approximately half of his full speed, the distance of almost two hundred meters became shortened in no time.

The scene depicting the underground cave was like that of a tiny human running straight at an incoming subway...

Yet, Jeremy's expressions and speed didn't falter a single bit upon seeing the giant creature with its mountainous momentum coming at him, whereas he thought to himself,

'Let's go with fifty percent strength...'

Jeremy thought momentarily to himself as he decided to test the water with half of his physical force in the first clash.

Even though the giant monster before Jeremy was just a young Amorphis with a body size of three meters at most, still, Jeremy had estimated its defensive capability to be somewhere between a low and intermediate organism.

Or worst, the young Amorphis' scales might even be as strong as an intermediate creature's defensive capability.

After all, the reason why Jeremy couldn't finish off the gargantuan Amorphis in his past life, a big part of that was Jeremy couldn't go past its extremely-high defense. As for the young Amorphis rushing in his direction, it even had an Earth elemental alignment, which was greatly renowned for its strong defense.

If Jeremy's guess was correct, it meant the Amorphis 'should' be capable enough of withstanding some attacks of Jeremy's...

Right now, Jeremy's speed was faster than one hundred and fifty kilometers per hour as he prepared himself for the first clash between him and the subway-like creature.

A split second later, two sides were only tens of meters apart...

Having been so close and about to collide with one another, the thrilled Amorphis promptly opened its big mouth full of sharp teeth, ready to gulp the small creature into its stomach in one go.

As an Amorphis' stomach was full of Poison elemental properties, it could digest anything it ate at a high-speed rate. Even rocks, big boulders, hard steel were no exceptions as they could be digested very quickly by its highly-acidic gastric acid all the same.

'It underestimates me...'

Jeremy thought disappointingly as he jumped slightly into the air with the grey spear, Anguish, clutched in his right hand.

Albeit only jumping 'slightly', as the gravity force was roughly the same as Earth's, Jeremy's jumping height had reached almost four meters easily.

Meanwhile, Anguish also vibrated slightly as if in joy to finally have a chance to eat its owner's opponent's blood.

Upon seeing the tiny creature could unexpectedly jump so high into the air right before the two about to clash against one another, the Amorphis tried hard to raise its head to bite down the small creature in the air.

However, it was simply to no avail as Jeremy's speed was just too fast, making the Amorphis' unwieldy body unable to react in time.

The Amorphis promptly felt a dangerous premonition exuding strongly from above its head, so it hurriedly utilized one of its defensive skills, causing its entire body to shine with dark brown light. Simultaneously, the hardened rocks covering all parts of its body became even stronger, with a layer of brown energy coating above them.

The skill the Amorphis used looked to be something like an inferior version of the half-elemental creature Goron, Jeremy had fought against in the hard trial.

Even though the Amorphis didn't have enough aptitude to use Full-Elemental Body like the Goron, still, such a defensive skill coming from the Amorphis that could wield two elements simultaneously was not something to be underestimated or trifled with.

As Jeremy was in midair, directly above the Amorphis' head, he spun his body slightly while swinging Anguish's spear blade at the earthen worm's shiny forehead, intending to slice through the defensive layer and the hardest part of his opponent's body in one go.

*Whoosh!*

Anguish traveled through the air, creating a gusty wind wave along its path, tracing directly towards the Amorphis' hardened rocky forehead.

As the Mythical-ranked weapon's sharp spearhead met with the solidified rock enhanced with an unknown Earth elemental skill, Anguish's extremely-sharp edge was somewhat slowed down for a split second by the latter's hardness and protective layer.

But with such great force put behind this strike, the latent capability of the spear, and Jeremy's immense strength from his racial evolution and Inhuman Strength skill, the Amorphis' superb defense gradually succumbed to Anguish's sharp edge.

*Splitch*

The spear blade went past the Amorphis' rocky armor in a split second, creating a 'splitch' noise when slicing through the latter's inner flesh, splashing out green blood from the gaping wound.

With Jeremy's Combo Strike, Balancing Symmetry, and Blurry Hands skills, he could easily adjust his body in midair after finishing his first strike.

Jeremy spun his body in an implausible posture and angle to give the Amorphis' lengthy back another two slashes in a quick manner, using roughly the same force as the first one.

*Splitch*

*Splitch*

"Kroooaaa!!"

Another two wounds appeared on the Amorphis' middle and last section of its body as it opened its wide mouth to scream in great pain.

The Amorphis' whining voice thundered out echoingly within the underground hall, signifying how painful it felt right now.

It couldn't be helped that the Amorphis would feel such pain from those small wounds...

After all, Anguish was a Mythical-ranked weapon with interesting abilities...

...

Name - Anguish

Rank - Mythical

Ability:

1. After being injected with mana, the entire spearhead will be coated with a sharp mana blade, whereas the hardness, sharpness, and weight of Anguish will be increased indefinitely according to the quantity and quality of mana input.

2. After being wounded by Anguish, the victim will experience physical and mental pain according to the degree of injury and mana infused within the attack.

3. Anguish is a semi-sentient spear that can perceive the user's desires. As long as its consciousness is safe, the spear will uphold the 'Indestructible' property.

Note - A grey wooden spear named Anguish, Memory of Twisted Vision, made from an unknown meteorite metalwood smithed by a legendary dwarf, Jazar.

...

Albeit Jeremy hadn't put in one hundred percent force behind the strikes, Anguish's blade still went past the Amorphis' great defense pretty easily.

That alone showed how great of a weapon called Anguish was...

This hadn't even accounted that Jeremy didn't input any mama into Anguish to create the mana blade or increase its sharpness in the previous clash.

At this time, Jeremy finally landed on the ground from his high-speed momentum after rolling many rounds on the floor.

Meanwhile, the still-whining-in-pain Amorphis also went past Jeremy as it left a long green bloody trail behind its moving path.

*Sizzling*

*Sizzling*

As the green liquid fell on the ground, the sizzling noises resounded out, showing how high the acidic property contained within the Amorphis blood was.

After going past Jeremy, the giant Amorphis started squirming and writhing in pain even more than before as it thrashed on the rocky ground not far away behind Jeremy.

*Boom!*

*Crumble*

*Crumble*

"Gaaaaaaaaa!!!" shouted in pain the Amorphis as it thrashed hard against pillar after pillar situated beside its giant body.

The pain the young Amorphis felt right now was unheard of...

It was the pain originating from its very soul, subsequently affecting its mind and body in a profound manner.

The Amorphis didn't even know why the three tiny wounds on its enormous body could hurt it so much. The only thing it knew right now was that it had to thrash... thrash against something hard for it to feel a greater pain than it currently felt.

For all that, the young Amorphis only wanted to lessen the painful feeling overflowing from its very soul. It felt it could lessen the pain if there was a greater pain to be felt in place of the one inflicted on its soul right now.

But such action of thrashing its body against the rocky pillars and stone floor was obviously to no avail...

The pain originating from one's soul was just too hard for one to bear...

'I don't even have to use mana or a single spell but only fifty percent of my strength together with a mythical weapon to defeat this big guy...'

Jeremy thought in marvel as he looked at one of the hidden bosses within the Tutorial wriggling and thrashing in pain right in front of him.

At the same time, Jeremy felt pretty much disappointed that he didn't have a chance to use his full strength to fight with the giant Amorphis.

Jeremy knew that the Amorphis before him was at least strong enough to battle toe to toe with a class 2 of humanity's various pathways.

Right now, Jeremy didn't even dare to imagine how the Amorphis would feel from the intensified pain inflicted by Anguish's second ability if he had injected even a single ounce of mana into Anguish earlier,

Jeremy knew the reason why the first clash's outcome ended up with the Amorphis utter defeat...

The first factor was that the creature had underestimated Jeremy earlier...

Another factor was that Jeremy might just be too powerful for this Tutorial...

Also, Jeremy knew he was powerful but didn't know he was powerful to such a degree.

In fact, if Jeremy intended to, he could even finish the Amorphis' miserable life right now, but he decided to wait for a bit as he still had something to try out with the earthen worm before him.

The giant creature's condition gradually improved after quivering in pang and pain for a few more seconds.

Not before long, the Amorphis finally stopped thrashing as its lengthy, plump belly wobbled up and down, brushing against the rocky floor, indicating it still felt a bit of pain but somewhat bearable.

Meanwhile, Jeremy only stood still, waiting for the Amorphis to recover in silence.
