The Villain is Too Good at Broadcasting

Chapter 14 - VGB 14: I don’t have a hyung like you. (7)

After our conversation, Dongsoo hyung led me to the room where his capsules were installed.

It was the largest room in the house.

There were three capsules set up altogether, as well as various pieces of broadcasting equipment.

Dongsoo hyung’s top-of-the-line PC, which he used for casual live streaming was also set up in one side of the room, but the game capsules were what caught my attention instead.

The capsule in my house was also the latest model, but these looked slightly different.

“It’s a capsule where the sync rate changes based on the user. This one was sponsored by <Phoenix>, the capsule manufacturer. The model name is PX-Infinity. It’s not commercially available yet.”

PX? That was a terrible name for a capsule.

However, the concept was amazing.

How could the sync rate be adjusted to the user’s body? Other capsules were limited to a pre-set rate of 10%.

Seemingly finding my reaction entertaining, Dongsoo hyung said,

“Let’s get you in and set up. This capsule needs to be personalised.”

It was definitely different from other capsules.

I followed his instructions and climbed in. The level of comfort wasn’t any different from other advanced capsules.

As soon as I pulled on the headset and accessed the interface, I saw an unexpected message window pop up in front of me.

[InItializing synchronisation with capsule.]

[Please select an option to proceed.]

……Could it be that after returning to the army, I couldn’t adjust to modern civilisation?

While my thoughts began to wander along this route, Dongsoo hyung’s voice was transmitted to me through the external microphone.

As soon as I heard Dongsoo hyung’s friendly voice giving this explanation, I immediately made my selection.

Then, a new message window popped up in my mind.

[Automatic synchronisation complete.]

“Hyung, it’s finished.”

Like the capsules installed in my house, the three here also seemed to be connected.

After about a minute.

Paaaat.

Dongsoo hyung appeared in front of me.

“Broadcast’s on.”

Like Jinhyukie had last time, Dongsoo hyung shared his dashboard with me so that I could see the open chat window.

I could then see the familiar chat box hanging in the air.

The number of viewers, which was displayed next to the window, was rapidly approaching the thousands.

“Say hi, guys. This is my dongsaeng.”

Text messages rapidly scrolled down the screen at Dongsoo hyung’s words.

This chat window really toed the line.

However, the viewers’ words weren’t deleted because it was a rated broadcast.

Unlike Jinhyukie, who felt pressured by this kind of chatter, Dongsoo hyung shrugged it off as though it were only natural.

“It’s been a while since I turned on a rated broadcast, so you can go wild. Just remember to keep it decent. Okay?”

‘kan’spreciousmiddleleg’ sponsored 50,000 won!

[Hyung! You’re being nauseating today too so just hurry up and turn on the game! Hyung, I’m so sick of you pretending to be cool!]

Was it because it was a rated broadcast? A nasty nickname came out from the get go.

Dongsoo hyung looked at the sponsorship message and glanced at me.

It seemed to be a gesture to say something.

Alright.

At this point, let’s just run with my character.

“Seems like you vicious bastards are excited.”

“…….Uh?”

Dongsoo hyung’s mouth clicked shut for a moment and he stared at me blankly.

The response was quite satisfactory.

If I kept going like this on the broadcast, they’d be able to understand my character pretty well.

Anyways, Dongsoo hyung quickly regained his senses and started broadcasting right away.

“We’re going to be playing AOA today. As you know, I’ve already finished up to episode 2, so I’m going to teach from behind the scenes and my dongsaeng will play. Dongsaeng? Let’s introduce ourselves and get started.”

“I’m Sha, the hyung of ‘Jin’, another streamer. I’ll do my best.”

‘Marry our Shacchi’ sponsored 10,000 won!

[Oppa, thanks for giving me a present last time! You’re gonna marry me now, right?]

What the fuck, this crazy bastard!

A terrible evil had followed me from Jinhyukie’s last broadcast.

I barely held back the obscenities that threatened to spill out of my mouth.

Even if it was a rated broadcast, you still had to stay within the limits.

When Dongsoo hyung saw the sponsorship message, he asked,

“What did you give?”

“That.”

“That?”

It was a bit embarrassing to tell him.

Regardless, Dongsoo hyung seemed to have realised the identity of ‘that’ from looking at the series of sponsorships. Before long, he nodded slowly.

“It’s better not to do it because tricks are useless on them anyway. Well done.”

After such a simple introductory session, we immediately logged into AOA.

I would be the only one actually playing the game on this broadcast.

Since I was a newbie to it, Dongsoo hyung would be giving me advice from behind the scenes.

Dongsoo hyung had planned this out in the script he’d given me prior to the broadcast.

However, as usual, life didn’t go as planned.

After the spectacular visuals of the AOA intro video finished playing before me, an unexpected message came to my mind.

[The game difficulty has been set to <Nightmare> according to the user’s sync rate!]

Dongsoo hyung, who was sharing my screen, said with a stunned expression, “The difficulty level was forcibly set?”

Seeing the barrage of questions pouring in, I selected the command to check my synchronisation rate.

Afterwards, I responded, frowning slightly,

“Hyung, is this capsule broken?”

“It can’t be. What’s your sync rate?”

“It says this.”

I shared the sync information window with Dongsoo hyung. After checking it, he couldn’t say anything for a long time.

“93……. Percent?”

The chat window caught on fire.

I looked at the chatbox and said casually,

“Ah, that 7%’s a waste. It would have been 100 if I’d gotten 7 percent more.”

Hmm.

Should I have been a little more arrogant? I was a little bit disappointed.

The actual term used here is Nogari Broadcasting, The term nogari means ‘salted pollock’, or ‘salted fish’, which you may be familiar from other wns – as basically just lying down and doing nothing. In this case, it refers to broadcasts where the host is ‘killing time’, chatting with viewers, and having fun.
