Chapter 19 - Dekan and Cornelia’s Marvelous Cooperation

Baron Bacher moved his neck around and readjusted his necktie.

After confirming that he had perfectly repositioned the necktie to the center, he revealed a smile at the two remaining students.

It was as if he had returned to his original gentlemanly demeanor.

“Well then, who will be next?”

Baron Bacher asked with a gentle voice. It was as if nothing happened earlier at all.

“I will.”

Dekan raised his hand without any hesitation.

“Very good.”

Baron Bacher was a bit surprised to see students being so proactive toward the next round of the dangerous game.

Normally, the remaining students would start to panic in fear after the first round finishes.

However, these two not only looked very calm and collected, they were giving off the air of confidence too.

This only made Baron Bacher more intrigued.

He laughed gleefully.

Surprises were always the best seasoning for a dish.

To a hunter, the rarer a prey was, the more valuable it was to capture it.

Baron Bacher propped up another dish. He circled around the edge of the long table in a refined manner to reach Dekan.

Gently, he raised his other hand to remove the silver plate cover.

It was a completely different dish from earlier. It was golden in color and gave off an alluring aroma. There were clear signs of crispiness.

A layer of flaky crust covered the barbeque. Illuminated by the lamp lights, it gave of a faint glimmer.

The plate cover seemed to be enchanted with magic. Even though it has been some time, the dish remained perfectly fresh.

Dekan contained his urge to pick up the plate cover to analyze it and turned his gaze to the food.

He straightened his posture to an upright position, picked up the knife and fork and began to cut the food in an unhurried manner.

The bites he took were not large. He would gently chew the food after every bite.

Mmm, there are multiple outer crispy layers and the barbeque inside is so juicy. On top of all that is the sweet cheese.

This is truly a perfect midnight snack.

The entire process lasted for five minutes.

Dekan placed down his utensils and picked up a napkin to gently wipe his mouth.

“Not bad.”

Dekan leaned back onto his chair as he gave that evaluation.

He even had the urge to fish out his pocket and tip Baron Bacher.

However, he was able to contain himself.

Dekan’s attitude greatly surprised Baron Bacher.

Never had he seen such a leisurely and confident student in his cooking class.

There was no trace of fear at all. Instead, he was acting like a respected guest evaluating the achievements of a chef.

Why is he acting like I invited him to dinner?

Is he an actual gourmet or is there something wrong with his head?

“Hahaha.”

Baron Bacher couldn’t contain his laughter.

Once his astonishment passed, he felt excitement.

It was an all-new prey.

He was looking forward to seeing this calm student’s expression change from composed to despair. He wanted to see him beg.

I really want to bite apart that calm expression!

“So, what’s your answer?”

Baron Bacher asked with a smile on his face.

“My answer is…”

“Cor, poison, eat, att.”

Dekan leaned back onto the chain and spoke with his legs crossed.

“Is that your answer?”

Baron Bacher frowned. He thought he might’ve misheard Dekan.

“Correct.”

Dekan replied with no change in his expression.

This shocked Baron Bacher.

“Cor, poison, eat, att.” What was that supposed to mean?

No matter what, that was nowhere close to the correct answer!

You dared act this arrogant with such an answer?!

You dared mess with me?!

Was it that you never knew anything to begin with?!

Did you decide to enjoy a delicacy to your heart’s delight now that you’re destined to die?!

Baron Bacher stared at Dekan. Even now, Dekan has such a confident expression.

He felt like he was toyed with by Dekan.

Where’s your fear?! Where’s your despair?!

Those are the most optimal flavors! The flavors that I deserve!

Your satisfied expression, that look on your face showing the desire for a drink, did you really take my place as a restaurant?!

“Hahahaha, it’s my first time encountering a student like you.”

Furious, Baron Bacher couldn’t help but laugh.

“I’ve decided. I’m going to crunch you to pieces with my teeth! That is your punishment for failing to satisfy me!”

Accompanying Baron Bacher’s slightly furious voice, his neck started growing longer again. Both his neck and his mouth transformed to that of a monster.

Different from last time, he showed no sign of appreciation toward his prey. He opened his mouth and bit down upon Dekan without any hesitation!

Right at this moment, Cornelia suddenly stood up from her seat. A sledgehammer appeared in her hand. She stepped onto the table and jumped. She aimed her hammer at Baron Bacher’s neck and ruthlessly smashed it.

“Boom!”

A loud noise resembling the collision of metals sounded especially clear in the once quiet classroom.

Sparks splattered from the collision between Cornelia’s warhammer and Baron Bacher’s scales. The metallic scent of saltpeter and smoke were faintly present in the air.

Baron Bacher’s neck was twisted to a weird angle by Cornelia’s strike. He was also sent flying.

Cornelia was also struck back by the impact. She was only able to stabilize herself with two heavy steps backwards. Nevertheless, a long-repressed sense of excitement could be seen in her eyes.

She was finally able to fight!

Dekan’s earlier instructions were something that only she could understand.

He was saying: “Cornelia, I poisoned him. Once he tries to eat me, you attack him by surprise.”

All the while this was happening, black fog started spreading through the room.

Dekan had retreated behind Cornelia and summoned Ruined Poet.

With a furious expression, Baron Bacher was trying to get up.

He was completely off guard earlier and received Cornelia’s surprise attack.

Apart from the pain coming from the area he was attacked on his neck, he felt an increasingly intensive pain from his stomach.

Unfortunately, he lacked the time to ponder what was going on. He was also unable to strike back at Dekan and Cornelia.

The moment the black fog covered the entire classroom, Baron Bacher felt his pain suddenly increase by tenfold.

He fell onto his knees and vomited out blood.

The carpet stained by his blood immediately started to sizzle and corrode with gray smoke.

He coughed several times continuously. It was as if he wanted to cough out all his internal organs. As he continued, he coughed out several grotesquely shaped needles.

“Ahhhhh!”

“You! What exactly have the two of you done?!”

Baron Barcher twisted his neck and shouted with rage.

He was experiencing greater pain than his tolerance. If one must describe the pain, it would be a persistent torture that surpassed everything.

He fell to the ground and twisted his body back and forth. It was as if there was something inside him destroying him from within.

“Old fart.”

Cornelia leaped from the table and stepped on Baron Bacher’s back. She smacked his head with her warhammer.

Her actions seemed to have ‘calmed’ him slightly.

“Huhu.”

Dekan pulled out a chair from the table and brought it before Baron Bacher.

He seated himself on the chair and held his chin with criss-crossed hands.

“You are not qualified to ask that question. Now then, it is my turn to interrogate you.”

A teasing look was present in Dekan’s eyes as he spoke to Baron Bacher lying on the ground.
