Unlucky?Player

Chapter 124 - 124)There's Nothing Stronger Than Family.

Nate wasn't usually that irritable, just like Luke, he wasn't provoked easily. He was calm but not carefree, he would listen to reason and try and understand but when it comes to his friend, all of the above went out of the window. He valued and cherished his relationship with Luke, of course, there were times when Nate questioned himself for hanging out with him, the frequent car splashing water onto them, the rainstorm starting out of nowhere, the second they step out of the house. Why would he want to stick with someone whose luck was capable of changing the weather itself? it was stupid and unreasonable but at the same time it was exciting, every time a car ran over a puddle, Luke would simply dodge it, and at the same time, he would help Nate as well.

One could say Nate wanted power, not for money or for fame, world domination, women or men, none of those, he simply wanted the power and the skill to save himself and Luke, was he tired of being saved? probably not, he was always grateful. The look on his friend's face, the look of excitement, he wanted to feel it too, and for that, he needed to improve and grow, but of course, that's not entirely possible in reality. Nate's body wasn't made from the same 'material' as Luke's, no matter how much he secretly worked out, he could never move like his friend, that was just fate.

However, when Genesis was introduced, it gave him a chance, another opportunity to fight beside his friend. He wasn't going to let this go to waste. Slowly, months passed by and he finally found the first step to reaching Luke, Hecate's symbol. He was the disciple of the God of Magic, this was a huge step and to his utter surprise, Nate was Gaia's chosen one, he was bound to Gaia's curse, a forbidden-grade curse of a Primordial and Hecate's symbol, a Divine-grade blessing.

After working so hard and bearing through all the suffering, who was Zane to call Nate weak? and unworthy? Zane was someone who was absolutely obliterated by his friend, what right did he have to say Nate was unworthy? he went on about being the King and how it was his birthright, so naturally, Nate did what he thought was right, he stripped Zane off it.

'It's your birthright to be king? what a fuckin joke, watch me trample all over that. You aren't ever going to amount to anything, let alone a goddamn king. You? make Night, my best-fcking-friend Night, kneel? don't make me laugh!'

The crowd watched in silence as Nate attacked the ground where Zane's corpse was once there. Even after he destroyed Zane's avatar, in the enraged state of his, he continued attacking the ground and didn't stop until the game forcefully logged him out.

The second Nate got down from the capsule, he could hear the loud footsteps of Arthur rushing to him. The guards present noticed what Arthur(Zane) was trying to do but no matter how fast they were, there was no way they could reach on time.

"You bastaaaard! What did you do??!!" Arthur growled as he raised his hand into the air and ran forward.

Nate, who barely got out of the capsule, had an amused look on his face, he wasn't worried in the slightest, there was no way that punch would connect, no matter who it was, he knew it wouldn't touch a single hair on him.

"Well, that's a mistake...." K Johnson chuckled, he watched the scene that was unfolding and laughed, he knew very well the consequences of Arthur's actions.

"Unfortunate, that's something he's probably going to regret forever," Jace said while nodding, "Oh there he is..."

Nate wasn't the only one who was aware of this, K and Jace knew that nothing could and nothing would touch Nate, after all, who would want to mess with someone who was considered family by a monster.

A dark blue and purple streak flashed by the audience, the guards all ran towards Arthur, whose fist was a second away from connecting Nate's face, Nate on the other hand just watched without even blinking, he knew that as long as there wasn't any weapon involved he would be unharmed, perhaps even if a firearm is involved he might be safe.

"I left you alive in the game because you warned me, not that I needed it, but you still went out of your way and told me, me leaving you alive shouldn't be considered mercy, I was simply just paying back what I owed, but you should be glad I caught your hand before it touched my friend. Consider me stopping your hand mercy," Luke said as he tightened the grip around Arthur's hand. "However, I should still repay you for attempting to harm someone I consider ????????????????????????, shouldn't I?"

(A/N: Think of a big bald man who likes to race but gets involved in anything and everything other than...well, racing)

"What...where did you even come fro-"

*????????????????????*

A straight punch into Arthur's face, it was a lighthearted punch, of course, he didn't want to kill the man, but it was still strong enough to send him back tumbling. The guards that were chasing Arthur finally reached him and immediately held him down. Arthur was a huge man, he was no doubt strong as well, it took 6 guards to hold him down, and that too barely.

"Call for backup!!" one of the guards screamed.

"We can't hold him for longer chief, he's a monster!!" another roared as he forced all his body weight onto Arthur.

"LET ME FCKIN GO!!! I ORDER YOU TO LET ME GO!!!!"

"A monster? where? this guy? you're joking," Luke snickered, "I'll help you out,"

"What are you....." Arthur tried to talk but he was knocked out cold when Luke lightly chopped his neck.

"There you go,"

"T-thank you...." one of the guards said as he finally relaxed, looking at him the other guards let go of Arthur and calmed down.

"You kind of lost your cool there, you okay?" Luke asked his friend as they walked back to their seats, once again, the majority of the crowd just blankly stared at Luke.

"Yeah, I'm alright just didn't like the way he spoke, his tone was quite annoying,"

"Alright if you say so," Luke sat down, "you know it wouldn't hurt to show some fear or doubt, it's boring for the person punching you when you don't show any fear, actually it looked like you were smiling, that's like even worse."

"Yeah, like you're going to let the punch connect?"

"Well, nahh.... but you know?"

"Yeah yeah,"

"Are you out of your stupid mind?? what are you some big oaf? you are not one of those roadside hipsters who act like they are gangsters, you hear me? Did you at least succeed? NO. You didn't, you got thrashed like a fckin ball, and knocked out as well. You know brother, you should be thankful nobody knows our identity, when the family gets to know of this, they will not stay quiet, there's no way they'll let it slide." Elena Richarson pointed her finger at her brother, Arthur Richardson or Zane.

"..."

"Of course! you don't say anything, you know for how much you show-off about being King or being a smart player or "out of the box" kind of individual, you did something awfully dumb, and now Arthur, I have to take revenge for both our sakes...."

"...Wait..." Arthur groaned, "what do you have in mind?"

"Like I'd tell you, haven't you ruined enough already? just shut it and watch, god-fckin-dammit!" Elena replied, she was obviously disgusted and ashamed of her brother's actions. Especially considering the fact that he was considered the brains and she the brawn. Though to the public that would seem hard to believe, just like how Luke was a hidden-gem of the martial arts world, someone hidden away from the public, Elena was the same in a way, however, her martial arts was extremely refined, it wasn't anything unknown like Luke's but since she was just a child, she made it a daily ritual to constantly grind her skills. It wasn't easy being the head of one of the most notorious crime families to ever exist.

"I'll take care of it, so you just rest," she scoffed.

'Luke huh? if that is your real name then you just made a very big mistake, a foolish one, be prepared, It'll hit you when you least expect it, but for now, let's focus on meeting in the game shall we?' she thought as she held a file in her hand. A file that contained nearly everything about Luke, from where he was born to where he currently lived.

(A/N: I read the comments regarding the stats and how they're hard to read, at least in the earlier chapters, I assumed it was easier that way. Thank you for letting me know. That'll be fixed in a few days.)
