Villain Is on Vacation

30 [Mark's POV]

In the hallway of the Holmes Family mansion, a young man in his early twenties, with a lean and athletic build was walking.

He was wearing his butler's uniform. He carried himself with an air of confidence and authority, commanding respect from those around him. His movements were fluid and graceful, indicating a certain level of training and discipline.

In the silent hallway, his footsteps can be heard.

His Brown hair was styled in a sophisticated manner, and his deep black eyes looked piercing. Although he wasn't much handsome however Butler's uniform added a unique charm to him.

His name is Mark.

Hello. I'm Mark. I'm a man of few words.

Currently, I am working as a butler for Rain Holmes, who is the heir to the wealthy Holmes family. Despite his high social status, he treats everyone with kindness, which is why I admire him greatly.

Young Master Rain seems to have everything in life, yet he still works hard every day. However, I have come to realize that beneath his successful exterior, he is quite lonely.

His parents are often too busy to spend time with him, and he has no close friends to confide in.

He takes on everything by himself and rarely asks for help, which makes me wonder if he is either too proud or too scared to let others into his life.

Young Master Rain's tireless work ethic takes a toll on him, and it's hard to watch him in this state.

Sometimes, I feel like reaching out and trying to befriend him. However, as his butler, I know there is a line I cannot cross, and my position makes it challenging for me to be a true friend to him.

It hurts me to see him struggle with loneliness, and I wish there was more I could do to help.

Thinking that, Mark sighed.

Yesterday, an incident occurred involving the young master, Rain Holmes. His sister, Lady Kaya, and his fiancée, Lady Emma, ended up beating him, leaving him injured. Apparently, lady Emma wanted to terminate their engagement contract, but Rain was not willing to comply. Fueled by her determination, Lady Emma challenged Young Master Rain to a duel.

Initially, the fight between the two of them was evenly matched, but as the duel progressed, Young Master Rain started to gain the upper hand. However, things quickly took a turn for the worse when Lady Kaya unexpectedly intervened and launched a surprise attack on Rain. With Rain caught off guard, the two women were able to overpower him, leaving him battered and bruised.

This injury may not completely heal till Academy's entrance exam.

Again, Mark sighed.

After that, Lady Kaya reasoned that she doesn't want to see the young master engaged with lady Emma. So she only got light punishment which is house arrest.

SO RIDICULOUS!!

Ahem... where are my manners. Sorry for the inconvenience.

But I can't do anything. She does these things many times and Lord is always unfair to master.

According to some of the older staff, Lady Kaya's parentless status has resulted in preferential treatment from the Lord. It's ironic because Young Master Rain is treated well too, but it's not the same.

Although they don't treat young masters rudely. They give plenty of money and things.

Despite the seemingly good treatment Young Master Rain receives, he remains isolated and withdrawn. I can't help but wonder if this is due to his pride or immaturity.

He has always been the type to take everything upon himself, even when it's not necessary, and this stubbornness makes it difficult for others to assist him.

He doesn't take it first, sometimes they forced him, but slowly they also gave up.

They also said that Lady Kaya, Lady Emma, and Young master were once close childhood friends however due to some accidents, their relationship was damaged.

It's a sad situation, and I wish there was something I could do to help him.

Soon Mark arrived at Rain's room, he sighed thinking about Rain.

Let's see the young master's condition.

Mark knocked on the door.

*Knock*

*Knock*

"Come in."

A manly voice came from behind the doors.

"Good morning, Young Master!!"

I greeted him.

But when I saw him, I was shocked.

Because he was standing. How did he get healed?

"Young master?"

"Yeah, Good morning, Mark."

He smiled. It was the first time in ten years of work, I saw him smiling. He just looked like an angel. If any girls saw him, they will become a fan of him.

Then we both left the room and arrived at the dining hall.

He ate breakfast with his parents in the dining hall. They talked for some time. But he still talks like this with everyone. Cold & Distant.

Watching Rain from afar, Mark sighed.

After that, he just ordered some strange things.

Let's do it then. Perhaps these are for his training.

After some days...

These days, the young master just reads books in the library and goes back to his room.

People in the main building are saying that he is depressed. But when his parents asked, he just said his injury was not fully healed yet. So he is preparing for the entrance exam.

So it's that, huh. There is no way that young master doesn't train every single day.

Today, he took the funds that he never touched and went to outdoor training. It was slightly unexpected.

But hearing he was going to train. It was a usual thing for him.

It appears like his training mode is back, he never relaxes.

Seeing how hardworking Rain was, Mark sighed.

After some days, the young master came back but just when I was going to greet him.

He met lady Kaya and lady Emma in the corridor. After seeing him, they just went into Lady Kaya's room and slammed the door in his face. The young master had a bewildered look on his face.

I didn't want to make him stand there, So I greeted him and he came out of his thoughts.

After that he just went to his room and slept, he didn't even eat dinner. After coming tired from training and experiencing that, he might be exhausted.

Again, Mark just sighed.

But...

At midnight, he sneaked out of the building and stopped at the lake.

I knew it. Every time he is sad, he will come here. So I followed him all the way.

I was just seeing him behind the tree because I didn't want to disturb him.

He just stared at the air. It looked like he was thinking about his life.

He looked lonely…

After some time,

"Hey. Mark, you did the job I told you, Right?" He suddenly talked with me. I was shocked.

"Yes, young master." I grimly answer him.

Looks like he knew I was here.

He stared at the Lake, seeing his reflection, and said,

"Hey Mark, you know, even with getting a chance to live happily ever after.

I can even resolve myself to do bad things, you know? And becoming a villain in their eyes.

I can even withstand being hated by those around me. Even if they hate me, I just hopelessly love them.

But... This Loneliness is hard to bear."

Then he just turned his face to me, It was so dark at that time, so I couldn't see his face. Still, I knew he smiled but in his eyes there were tears.

He apparently said something, but I didn't hear it. This week, I have seen both his smile and tears. I just silently followed him to the building.

But you know,

'The Brightest smile

Hides the deepest secrets,

And The Pretty eyes

Cried the most tears.'
