Chapter 125 Dobby the House Elf’s Trouble

"Mr. Malfoy, now you understand all the issues clearly," Ethan said to Lucius Malfoy with a smile.

"Yes, fortunately, the matter in the Chamber of Secrets was resolved very well. No one was harmed. I think the members of the Hogwarts Board of Directors will be quite satisfied with the result," Lucius Malfoy replied cheerfully.

Professor McGonagall looked at the two of them suspiciously. Lucius Malfoy, who was obviously aggressive at the beginning and seemed to be asking for trouble, actually became so easy-going after talking to Ethan for a while.

"Now that the matter has been investigated clearly, I think it's time for me to leave." Lucius Malfoy said.

Then he turned to his house-elf and said, "Let's go, Dobby!"

Lucius Malfoy opened the door, Dobby ran over in a hurry, and Lucius Malfoy kicked him out.

Professor McGonagall frowned when she saw him treating Dobby so roughly, but she couldn't interfere in this matter. After all, Dobby was the "personal property" of the Malfoy family.

All three in the principal's office heard Dobby's screams of pain coming down the corridor.

Harry stood there, thinking hard for a moment, and then he had an idea.

"Professor Ethan," Harry said hurriedly, "Excuse me, can I borrow this diary?"

Of course Ethan knew that Harry wanted to save Dobby, so he agreed without much hesitation.

"Of course, Harry" Ethan put the diary in Harry's hand.

Harry grabbed the diary and rushed out of the office. He heard Dobby's screams of agony coming around the corner, getting farther and farther away.

Harry, doubting whether this plan would work, quickly took off one of his shoes, pulled off his sticky, smelly sock, and stuffed the diary inside.

Then he darted down the dark corridor.

Ethan looked at Harry walking away with a smile, thinking that after a while, Dobby would be free.

"Professor Ethan, can you tell me what you and Mr. Malfoy talked about?" Professor McGonagall asked.

"Nothing, we just exchanged the details of the Chamber of Secrets incident. It's obvious that Mr. Malfoy is a reasonable person." Ethan replied.

Professor McGonagall looked at Ethan suspiciously, she could feel that Ethan must be hiding something.

But seeing that Ethan was obviously unwilling to say anything, she couldn't cross-examine him too much. After all, Ethan was also her colleague.

Professor McGonagall wanted to say something else, but a sudden loud noise from the corridor interrupted her.

Just when Professor McGonagall was worried about leaving the principal's office to see what was going on, Harry led Dobby into the principal's office happily.

"Harry Potter has freed Dobby!" Dobby shouted in a high-pitched voice as soon as he saw Ethan.

"Harry Potter set Dobby free!" Dobby continued with widened round eyes, "Harry Potter is truly the greatest man in the world!"

"Congratulations, Dobby, now you are a free elf, you can now do whatever you want!" Ethan heartily congratulated.

A bright smile suddenly broke out on Dobby's ugly brown-red face, showing his teeth. He jumped twice as if he was planning to do something.

But soon confusion appeared on his face again. The freedom he gained was so sudden that he didn't know what to do for a while.

Dobby stood there awkwardly and squeezed his hands. He didn't know what to do.

Harry was a little dumbfounded when he saw the current situation. He had just been immersed in the joy of letting Dobby regain his freedom, but he didn't expect to encounter such a problem in the blink of an eye.

"I can give you some advice, Dobby." Ethan said, "Go to Hermione. Hermione must have a way to properly arrange for you."

"If you need any help, you can come to me or Professor McGonagall." Ethan said, and Professor McGonagall nodded, saying that he would definitely help.

Harry also remembered Hermione's House Elf Rights Promotion Association. It was obvious that Hermione finally had a role to play.

Thinking of this, Harry happily said goodbye to Ethan and Professor McGonagall, and rushed outside with Dobby.

"Dobby, congratulations on your freedom!" Hermione exclaimed in surprise after hearing Harry explain the whole process of liberating Dobby.

"Thank you, Miss Granger." Dobby's big nose trembled with excitement.

"But the problem now is that Dobby doesn't know where to go!" Harry took the opportunity to talk about the problem he was facing now.

After hearing what Harry said about the current situation, Hermione also opened her mouth in surprise. She did not expect that after finally waiting for Dobby's freedom, she would now encounter this kind of problem.

"Perhaps we can ask Professor McGonagall if he can arrange for Dobby to be admitted to Hogwarts?" Ron, who had been silent on the side, suddenly reminded him.

Hermione's eyes lit up immediately, "Yes, let's go and ask quickly!" Hermione shouted.

Hermione thought Ron had a good idea, so that not only could Dobby be accommodated, but she could also visit Dobby at any time.

More importantly, Dobby can spread "advanced" ideas to other house elves in his interactions with other house elves.

"Dobby is a free elf. He can receive his own salary and fixed holidays!" Hermione said excitedly.

When Dobby heard about wages and holidays, his body froze, as if someone had cast a petrifying spell on him.

Harry looked at Dobby worriedly, fearing that he was as hysterical as Pippi.

"Salary - vacation -" Dobby said these words tremblingly, as if he had experienced something terrible.

"Dobby is a house elf - an elf can't have one." Dobby looked pale and squeezed out the words one by one.

"Dobby! You are different from them! You are free!" Hermione reminded loudly from the side.

"Yes! Dobby is a free elf!" Hermione's words seemed to give Dobby inexplicable courage, allowing him to puff up his bony chest.

"Dobby thinks that Dobby can ask for one copper nut a year!" Dobby mustered up the courage to say his boldest request.

After saying that, he seemed to be frightened by his own greed, gasped, and almost fainted.

Harry had no choice but to lower his head and hold Dobby's shoulders to prevent Dobby from fainting.

"A Coppernut?" Hermione said in surprise.

"A copper nut can't buy anything! Dobby!" Hermione's eyes widened, and even her two rather large front teeth stuck out nervously.

"Dobby, you have to have more legitimate needs!" Hermione advised from the side.

"You have to pay at least fifty galleons a month!" Hermione thought for a while and set a reasonable salary price for Dobby.

"Fifty gold galleons?" Dobby jumped up as if he had been burned.

"This is really terrible! Miss Granger! Please don't say such things!" Dobby begged Hermione, trembling all over.

"Dobby, you don't need to be ashamed of this! You deserve this!" Hermione was still trying to persuade Dobby.

Unfortunately, Dobby was completely frightened by Hermione's proposal of fifty gold galleons. He was trembling and unwilling to listen to Hermione.

He didn't even have time to say goodbye to Harry, before he turned into a puff of smoke and ran away with a snap of his fingers.
