CHAPTER 11: THE FÜHRER AND THE HOLY MAIDEN PART 2

A ship was rescued by the protected cruiser “Izumi”. It was ridden by a woman named Roshana, who claimed to be a saint.

Her country of origin is the Kingdom of Celestial… okay, I understand the situation more or less.

Now, it’s time for diplomacy.

For the past few weeks, I’ve been successfully disguising myself as Eryutheia. Probably, I don’t think people around me know who I am.

However, the contents are still ordinary people.

How long will I be able to do this?

“No, I haven’t done anything to warrant thanks. I am Eryutheia, Führer of the Yamato Empire. Roshana-san, right? pleased to meet you”

First of all, deal with it with a smile. I will rise from my chair to welcome her.

Then, I guided her to a sofa, saying, “You must be tired from your long trip, please have a seat”

You see, the current me is a small beautiful girl, so Eryutheia is quite attractive if she responds with a smile.

Roshana-san, who had been looking tense until a few minutes ago, seemed to have relaxed a bit, and a slight smile appeared on her face.

Very well. It should be like this.

It’s hard to talk when you’re nervous.

“Thank you so much. So, Her Excellency Eryutheia is in the position of Führer. Is it, by analogy, like the king?”

“It’s something similar. But you don’t need to worry about it here. For now, it’s not an official meeting”

“It’s not official” is very important.

Then, I also sat down on the sofa facing each other, and we begin talking in earnest.

Also, Ayame-san, please serve Roshana-san some warm tea. I’m sure you are tired of being in distress.

……I mean, my country is quite strange, isn’t it? It calls itself an empire, but its head is not an emperor but a führer. It is an appropriate naming of a certain game.

“So why are you in that ship in such a place? I’m sure you have a very good reason for being so desperate”

While Ayame-san prepares tea, the first thing I ask is why they were sailing such a ragged ship in such a place.

“Yes, as a matter of fact, my homeland, the Celestial Kingdom, was destroyed by the Elves. In order to escape from their demonic clutches, I boarded a ship and kept heading east”

“…Elves?”

I heard a word that I couldn’t ignore.

Elves, you know, are a fantasy race with long ears. There are often depicted as having beautiful features.

“That’s right, it’s an elf. A long-eared, excellent at magic, savage, and terrifying race… does Her Excellency Eryutheia not know about this?”

“Yeah, unfortunately. We never got involved with them”

They are savage and terrifying, she says…

“I envy that. Elves are truly a fearsome race. They call themselves the superior race and call all the other races the inferior race, and they enslave them without mercy”

Yeah….. somehow, the image is different from the elves I know.

I thought elves were a little more peaceful. Like living peacefully in the forest.

“In the past, we humans could still fight with our magical powers, but in recent years the elves have acquired the ability to manipulate monsters and have become an overwhelming military force. And so we were driven off the continent”

Hmm, for now, should I understand that the elves are a dangerous race of people who manipulate monsters?

That is if this saint is telling the truth.

Who said that words are not pure information? I forget the details, but I think there was a saying that went something like that.

Words are always distorted by the subjectivity of those who speak them, or something like that.

In other words, it’s possible that she hates the elves and is saying worse about them than she should, so it’s best to only listen to half of what she says.

“I see, I understand the situation. So, what is it about your homeland, the Celestial Kingdom, was it?”

“It is a rich country that exists on the continent west of here… no, it was a rich country. Now it’s burned to the ground by the elves, I’m sure…”

Roshana-san face falls sadly.

To the west, is it? I see, so there is a continent on that side. Let’s order the Navy to investigate.

……Well, I want to grieve for the destruction of the country as much as you do. The fact that it is destroyed means that it is not a country that can help us, the Yamato Empire.

It’s a real shame.

Now, then, the question is how willing are the elves creatures to listen to us?

If her homeland, the Celestial Kingdom, has been destroyed, our country will starve unless we receive food from the Elven Kingdom instead.

Well, it depends on what method you use.

……Speaking of which, I have to ask.

“It is unfortunate that the country has perished… and these elves, how much magical technology do they possess? for example, what kind of monsters do they have under their command?”

Here is the issue. The enemy’s capabilities… well, it is not definite that they will be hostile, but you should know what the elves are capable of.

“The most common ones are goblins. They led a horde of over a million goblins to crush our human nations”

“Heh… that’s scary”

……I will keep it to myself, but I think we can handle that much.

The population of the Yamato Empire is 120 million. and in the event of a war where the survival of the nation is at stake, we can mobilize about 10 million soldiers, so our numbers would be sufficient to fight them.

Furthermore, if we were to build a machine gun encampment and make a beehive out of them, we would be able to handle goblins.

“And what’s even more terrifying than those goblins is the ‘man-eater’, a gigantic bird that flies in the sky. This gigantic bird, big enough for a man to ride, attacks us one-sidedly from the sky.”

“I see, that’s troublesome”

Yeah, for real.

I nod my head in agreement with Roshana-san.

Man-eating birds, man-eaters, was it?

It is unexpected that they have an air force. Based on the structure of the ramshackle ship they were on, I surmised that the civilization of this world was at best the level of a medieval magical civilization.

This is the common fantasy world. There is no unreasonable super magic that can destroy the world, and the only magic present is shooting fireballs.

I thought it was on that level.

I had assumed that our country, with its World War I level of technological capability, would be able to deal with it with ease…

Unfortunately, there are no airplanes in our country. Of course, we don’t have the means to fight it yet.

Well, it can’t be helped due to the specifications of the game called Rasbata.

The management was too lazy to create an air force system, and in the end, air forces were never added.

That’s why it’s troublesome for the enemy to have air forces. Well, what can we do about it… If the other party has an air force, I don’t want to carelessly put my hands on them.

“Your Excellency, Eryutheia. Please save the Kingdom of Celestial from the clutches of the elves! this is a country that builds such steel behemoths, surely it can fight even those evil elves!”

What a passionate speech by Roshana… hmm, to be honest, I’m not keen on a war with the Elves.

I mean, I don’t like conflict to begin with.

Well, to be precise, I just hate it when my country becomes the main focus of conflict.

War should be left to others.

I will give money and weapons from behind and moderately support those who may give my country an advantage in the future. Using duplicity and even triplicity, winning profits without shedding blood.

This is the easiest way to make a profit.

Unlike when I fought mainly, I don’t have to worry about resentment.

Well, that’s why they called me ‘Bricas’.

Let’s answer Roshana-san that we will consider the war with the elves positively.

This is not an official meeting place, so if we decide not to go to war with the elves, we can make excuses later in any way we want.

And if we were unlucky enough to go to war, we might be able to get support from the Celestial Kingdom citizens by expressing our support for the Celestial Kingdom from an early stage.

Duplicity.

This is the secret to the prosperity of the Yamato Empire.

Then again, maybe we shouldn’t talk about otherworldly transfers.

The whole country has been transferred to another world. It is not necessary to explain in detail to those who are somewhat knowledgeable about economics how critical the situation is.

This matter is a weakness of my country.

They cannot afford to help our country, so there is no point in asking for help.

I would rather that they think of the Yamato Empire as a dependable friendly nation, so telling them would only be a disadvantage.

Now then… let’s return home, at this point.

The front line has stabilized a bit. And, above all, we need to provide these saints with a government in exile.
