"By any chance are you Severus?"

Out of nowhere the old man entered inside the room and barked his question. 

Severus calmly analyzed the old man. He saw how serene his face looked despite having an aged face. The old man sat beside Severus as he elegantly started to brew tea for himself. Severus' face twitched when he saw that the old man was only brewing tea for himself.

"Yes I am"

"Good Good"

"...."

Is there anything good?

Severus was confused. Nevertheless, how stupid he felt about the old man he didn't dare to let his guards down. If a complete stranger like him knows about him then his worries aren't superfluous. 

The old man who was sipping his tea seemed to understand Severus' queries thus he put his tea down and thought about giving an explanation.

"I know you must be curious about me or how I know about you but I assure you that we mean no harm. A week ago an old man who looked no less than 40 of age came knocking on our door. I could feel his scholar aura and he seemed extremely knowledgeable. In our profession, we don't attack three types of people. One is a woman, kids, and a knowledgeable person. Since he falls under our spare category we didn't knock him out"

At this time nobody saw a blackbird entering the room. When the bird perched on Severus' shoulder the old man was surprised. Severus himself was a little bit shocked but then Noworry just shrugged his swings so Severus didn't give in much thought.

[More like these bastards can't knock the old man out]

"..."

It was great that except for Severus no one else could hear Noworry words or else the old man had surely puked blood right now.

"And?"

Severus motioned for the old man to continue his story.

The old man saw that Severus had no interest to introduce him to his pet bird. He was dismayed but continued his story. Actually, the old man came to us with an offer"

"Offer? What type of offer?"

"He said that in a week a man will come to us whose name will be Severus. He will help us to gain back our powers and rule on Hui island and in return, we need to give our 'thousand yarn pearl' to you"

Severus recalled his conversation with an old man and suddenly an idea thundered inside his head. His hands started shaking in anxiety as he asked.

"What is the use of a thousand yarn pearl?"

The old man's face turned ghastly pale. It was as if Severus had asked about his life's secret treasure. The old man reluctantly told Severus about a thousand yarn pearls.

Thousand yarn pearl was a small herbal medicine that was considered their ancestral treasure. It was a small ball-like medicine that was white in color. Due to its texture and appearance, it is called a white pearl. This pearl can heal any animal with the effects of curses. It was considered as legendary medicine however it had no effect on humans that's why the old man family was able to save it for years. If it had been usable on humans Severus was sure that the old man would have used it long ago. Nevertheless, Severus was very happy. Finally, he got a cure for Noworry illness. 

Noworry who was quietly perched on Severus' shoulder was clueless about everything. 

[Are you dumb?]

Noworry sarcasm brought Severus out from his daze.

Huh?

[You are smiling unnecessarily]

"....."

Severus ignored Noworry.

"Old man what's your tale? I mean why should I help you? Just because a random stranger came to you and said some random shit, it doesn't mean I am going to help you. Even after knowing that your people attacked me with killing intent just a few minutes ago"

HAHAHAHAHA

The old man started laughing like he heard a joke.

"Oh boy!"

"My name is Gui Song and I am the leader of this beggar sect."

The old man introduced himself proudly.

"...."

"I apologize for the earlier attack but you should be careful too. The photo that you tore in front of everyone was of the gangster called yellow teeth. Just as the name suggests, he was a lousy gangster. Only he had a face that can sacred anyone but his character was the same as a sloth. A few years ago he came to Hui Island to continue with his rogue ways however he stumbled upon us. We pitied him because of his nature. We tried to make him learn the correct rogue ways. We taught him how to steal, threaten, and even kill people but that bastard was just a dumb fellow. He didn't learn anything, so we just gave up on him and let him be. He spent the rest of his life here and a month ago he died because of food poisoning. Because of his lazy nature, he ate 3-year expired cup noodles and died. Everyone at that time felt a little emotional I guess so they attacked you. Moreover, the way you portray yourself, it was rather okay for them to behave this way."

Severus was speechless and for the first time, Severus was speechless too. 

They never encountered a person who died because of laziness. 

[Geez....you mortals stink]

Cough Cough

"So you want me to help you in return for that thousand yarn pearl?"

The old man nodded his head like a lop dog.

"Don't you think this deal is a bit short on my end?"

The old man's face turned black like the inside of a kettle."What more do you want? I am already giving you my ancestral treasure. Didn't you hear that I am the leader of this beggar sect? What can you expect from beggars unless you don't like to eat stale food"

Severius resisted nausea in his head.

"No please!"

He firmly rejected it.

"You are Gui Song? Don't tell me you are related to the lord of Hui island?"

Anger flared from Gui Song nostrils." What do you mean by relation? Of course, we are related. Shui Song, the current lord of Hui Island is my brother however when we were young he cheated on me and took the lordship from me. My parents died when we were small and we were brought up by our master. Later Shui bribed our master and thus I ended up in the streets. However, no matter how adverse one's situation is, a leader is always a leader. So after ending up on the street, I founded this beggar sect and under my guidance, it thrived and prospered. However, the only thing I regret is my reputation on this island which is smeared with dust, and it all thanks to my lovely little brother. I tried attacking him from time to time but all my attacks failed. I bet someone from my sect is betraying me but I don't know who is it or else I would have killed that mole. Everyone around me is so good and honest. I just can't blame anyone."

Severus didn't know how to react. Although he was amazed by this man of narcissism and founding a beggar sect, the way he was so proud made Severus perplexed. As for noworry he only had one word to describe everything.

[Idiot]

They were just a bunch of idiots. It was obvious to him why his master didn't choose him as a lord. For handling such a position you need to be smart and shrewd and Gui Song was totally the opposite of it. It wouldn't be wrong to say that he was rather kind and stupid. 

Actually, Severus was aware of the real reason. Gui Song was a person who had a gullible personality. He was a person who cared for his subordinate lives. After the betrayal by his blood relative brother, he was traumatized to the core. He felt it was better to remain oblivious then to actually find the perpetrator. This way he could at least save his fragile trust in humans.

Severus didn't want to think much about this Song brother rivalry. All he wanted was to have that thousand yarn pearl.

"Okay I agree to your proposal"

Gui Song's aged face lit up like a kid who got candy after a long but his face turned stormy after Severus' interruption.

"But...…."

"What?"

"I promise to help you but I want you to fulfill my two conditions"

"Hmmm...what conditions?"

"My first condition is that after I help you win the lordship of Hui Island I want your neverending support in my life and if you dared to betray me then I will curse your nth generation to be poor and live under poverty"

[.....Nice]

Gui Song "....."

"Are you sure you want to curse us in this way?"

Severus"....."

"Why is it too harsh?"

Severus thought that maybe it was too harsh. No one wants poverty as it comes with an extremely hard life. Cursing someone's generations to live in poverty seemed a tad bit harsh. He thought about changing the punishment for betrayal. As he was thinking about another punishment the old man said something which totally blew his mind off.

"It will be a rather blessing for my generations"
