Shui Song noticed that Severus was indeed a powerful person however he misjudged him. He thought that he was protecting Selena because he fell for her beauty, but it was not the case.

"Hey, you there! Severus."

"Huh?" Severus confusedly glanced at him.

The lord turned oblivious to everything as he ordered. "Protect Selena and this castle as well as help me take down all the bastards. I will handsomely reward you"

Everyone who was present there was rendered speechless. Reward from the lord was something that every one of them wanted but the price was surely hefty.

Fight with these invaders?

Why would someone want to die young unless he was not a psycho? They all just sulked at the corner.

As for Severus he just glanced at the invaders. "No"

"I will reward you"

Selena blushed so hard that even her neck turned pink. It was hard to say whether the redness was from embarrassment or blush.

Severus who was offered so many privileges just stood there in silence. Everyone thought that lust won over money. After all, who would want to miss such an outstanding opportunity but alas it was not the same for Severus.

The amount of disgust he felt at that moment was incomparable. His body emitted a dark aura as he withdrew the hands that were earlier grabbing Selena's petite hand.

"So, is this your true self? Is not today supposed to be a full night moon? According to your family legends, you should be the most powerful person on this land today. So, what is stopping you from kicking their ass? Or are your family legends being just false rumors?."

Shui Song and Selena were thunderstruck. The legends were only supposed to be known to the immediate Song family members. They both were shocked when they found out that Severus was aware of it too.

In an instant, Selena felt a strangeness from Severus. It was as if he was not the same person who had spent his time with her earlier. The air turned chilly as Severus' dark façade ripped.

"You don't want to speak? Well then let me be the one to tell everyone about your misdeeds. Song family legends are indeed true however the legends are only bestowed upon those who have a righteous heart. You were never the right successor nor the inheritor of your ancestor's legends because you lacked the right approach. You lacked humanity. You lacked what we call trust. You were nothing but a conceited beast. You did not even spare your own family. I feel disgusted and somehow blessed that I do not share even an ounce of relation with you. First, you tricked Genessa, the mother of Selena and your wife, and married her despite being aware that your big brother and Genessa were in a mutual relationship. Later you sent your own daughter to Rivera's kingdom and used her as a chess piece so you can gain best of both the worlds. You wanted her to marry the crown prince of Rivera kingdom so you can benefit from it, but that stupid general came into your way. You were aware about him. You knew as long as shadow knight was alive you could never truly gain the support of Rivers kingdom thus you secretly asked your daughter Melanie to drug him. Since she was near to him and the crown prince it was easy for her to drug the knight and manipulate the crown prince. Voila, your plan worked. Your beloved daughter emerged victorious and a feud was successfully placed between the crown prince and shadow knight. Later you asked her to marry the crown prince but for some reasons, he had been delaying it. Am I right? What a good father you are. Just because you can't reap benefits out of your elder daughter now you are trying to offer your younger daughter. Don't you have any shame?"

Silence!

Complete silence was there.

Even the lord was astonished. His face was full of bewilderment as sweat was constantly dripping from his forehead. It was evident that whatever Severus said was true. His anxiety gave away everything.

"Lie!"

"Just who the hell are you? Why should they believe in you and not their lord? How dare you?"

Shui Song charged at Severus with full ferocity however Severus just skidded away and threw a punch on his face. Shui fell backward with a thud. His soldiers who were in a rather good form came to help him, but he pushed everyone. "Don't touch me. I will kill this lad"

Selena was astonished, scared, bewildered, and lost. Although she wanted to believe in her father, her instincts told her not to. She quietly backed away and found a safe corner for herself to watch the fight. Tears poured from her eyes continuously as she cried without making any noise. She never imagined her coming of age ceremony to be like this.

Thud!

Bam!

Shatter!

So many things started breaking and a beautiful hall turned into a complete mess.

"Listen I am not interested in fighting so don't bother me," Severus said.

Lord "…"

Everyone around them was surprised by Severus.

He was not here for Selena nor for Lord. He was not even with the invaders. Everyone turned perplexed. No one was sane enough there to understand his motive.

"Enough" The masked man shouted.

He slowly removed his mask and an extremely similar face greeted Shui. He didn't know how many more attacks his feeble heart could bear. The thing he despised most actually happened.

"So, it's you? You bloody traitor! How dare you infiltrate my castle?"

The masked man chuckled. "Your castle? It was supposed to be mine or lest you could say it was ours…but you didn't change. Not even a bit. Very well then. Your crimes are numerous and the number of misdeeds which has happened because of you uncountable so, I think I should bring justice"

"Hah!"

"Look who is even talking about justice? The one who cheated on his own brother" Shui said through gritted teeth.

Indeed!

The man's face turned pale.

Severus saw that the old man was again in a dilemma.

"Old man, you didn't cheat your own brother. It was just a ploy created by him to bind you and Genessa in an endless loop of guilt. Do you think a person of such temperament would allow a soiled woman with him? Nor Melanie neither Selena is your daughter. They both are his daughters. You did nothing wrong"

Shui Song's face scrunched in annoyance whereas the old man was shocked to his core. Whatever Severus said, if it was true then his years of atonement, wouldn't it be a waste? But no matter how much waste it was, a relief cascaded inside his heart. He felt his misery fading away from his heart.

"So, you cheated me. You stole everything I had. You stole the love of my life from me then you framed me and just tossed me in some gutters and even bound me to an endless loop of guilt. Just how despicable are you Shui?" He roared.

HA!

"You believe him but not yourself. Don't you feel ashamed? You bastard. You spent a night with my wife and even had her conceive a child. It was just that I was manganous enough that I let that child live. Me and my wife loved each other very much but she died after Selena was born. I was heartbroken but I never cheated. Not even on my dead wife but you. Che! You did a horrendous deed and even have the galls to call me a cheater"

People started whispering around them. The argument was heating, and the dirty laundry of nobles aired.

Is this how the lord's family lives?

Who knows if Selena is legal or illegitimate?

Hush voices were everywhere. It was without a doubt that after today's night Song's family would turn into a complete joke.

"Don't listen to him Gui Song. Not even one of them is your daughter. I personally checked them using bloodstones. This man is a monster who would never allow an illegitimate child of his wife to even breath for a second."

"Shut up you Idiot!" Shui Song roared.

"Father who is he?" A timid voice of Selena laced with snot asked.

"Child. I am your beloved uncle who was framed by your father. I am sorry to say but your father was involved in several illegal activities. He owns several brothels and has forced several young girls into brothels. He even sold illegal weapons and drugs to enemy land. Let's not talk about corruption. It is something which nobody denies. His entire life he just enjoyed luxury and never once did his job. He is just a filth who needs to be get rid of. Shui Song I will kill you today. You dared to poison me. Never mind you even used our ancestral forbidden curse. For whom? Me? If you wanted everything so badly then all you had to do was, to ask. After you got married to Genessa, I became hopeless. To be honest, I accepted the most dangerous missions for the sake of death, but I never got it. I just wanted peace and happiness, but you never gave it to me. Why?"

Shui Song wiped the blood from his face as he stood up. Like a maniac, he started laughing.
