Mu Jin struggled to stand up. But his legs felt like they were hollowed out. He was unable to exert any strength.

Along with a strange sharp pain at the bottom of his abdomen, some warm liquid slowly flowed out of his body along his legs and dripped onto the marble slab.

The water broke?

Mu Jin froze for a few seconds before he was aware of this. He was so frightened that he tried to scream for help, but when he opened his mouth all that came out was a little broken moan.

His helpless eyes scanned the area and saw a decorative crystal planter placed along the path.

Using his hands to support his bulky body and gritting his teeth to endure the growing abdominal pain, he slowly moved to the edge of the path and pushed it with all his strength.

With the ear-splitting sound of the crystal planter collapsing, there were a few loud barks from inside the house.

The pain in his abdomen was still intensifying, seemingly ripping out all the organs in his body mercilessly. However, Mu Jin sighed with relief. His head was heavy. He felt dizzy from lack of oxygen, and his consciousness was beginning to lapse.

His vision became blurred, and he couldn’t hold on any longer. He collapsed onto the cold floor with his hands wrapped around his stomach.

From the time Aunt Chen found him in the backyard until he was taken to the ambulance, Mu Jin’s mind remained muddled. His eyes never opened. His body was drenched in a cold sweat, and only a faint, broken moan indicated any sign of life.

His body felt light as if his soul was leaving his body and floating up. It seemed as he was being pulled by something, moving in an unknown direction.

There was silence and dullness all around him. A warm, soft light glowed at the far end.

When he reached the distance, Mu Jin was suddenly pulled back by some force. A sharp and intense pain burst from his body as if trying to tear his thin body in half with its bare hands.

Mu Jin threw back his head in pain, unable to stop himself from letting out a scream. His hair was soaked in a cold sweat and clung to his face. As he struggled violently, it tossed.

His eyes were half-open. The light from the surgical lamp hanging above the operating table was so bright that he felt dizzy.

His body has been changed into a loose hospital gown, and his towering abdomen is covered by a large piece of pale blue cloth. He cannot see his lower body and can only feel some warm fluid flowing from between his legs, a tiny but uninterrupted stream.

Several doctors in sterile suits were gathered around the operating table, wearing masks. All that could be seen were their tightly frowning brows as if the situation was somewhat wrong.

Mu Jin’s face was blue and white, bloodless. His chest felt blocked by something. Although he was wearing an oxygen mask, he could not catch his breath and had difficulty breathing.

“Doctor…” Mu Jin gritted his teeth. His chest clogged with cold air as he stammered out softly, “Is my…family here?”

The doctor beside him nodded and signalled for the nurse to go out and call someone. After a while, Mrs Mu came in wearing a white sterile gown.
The mask covered her delicate face, leaving only a pair of eyes red and swollen from crying.

Her son wrestled helplessly in pain on the delivery bed. His chest rose and fell weakly and breathless. Blood from his lower body trickled out of his body like a small stream, draining away vitality and life.

“Mom, has Tianchen come back yet?” Mu Jin’s tone was slow but gentle. His eyes were like the warm morning sun, with a slight expectation.

He was in too much pain, so much pain that his consciousness was about to fade away. It was like a giant wave engulfing his body, with no end in sight.

When a person is at his weakest, he will want a little comfort to sustain him from collapsing.

Mu Jin so wanted Gao Tianchen by his side. To hold his hand firmly, to tenderly wipe away the sweat that covered his face, to give him comfort and encouragement.

“Xiao Jin… I’ve already informed him,” Mrs Mu sobbed as she said, “He’s very anxious and is coming back right away. He should be on the plane by now.”

Mu Jin’s eyes slowly lowered, his brows furrowed. A layer of sadness tinged the bottom of his clear eyes, and a hint of gloom gradually engulfed his heart.

“I have no more strength…” The child in his belly was stirring and struggling to come out, but Mu Jin could not muster a single ounce of strength to push.

His body was already weak and gassy. Without the Alpha pheromones to ease the pain, the load on his heart was too much to bear.

“Mom, use the drugs…take the baby…out…” the corners of Mu Jin’s mouth rose slightly with a slight smile of relief. His tone was flat and gentle, while his eyes were white and somewhat bleak.

Madam Mu covered her mouth and whimpered silently. Tears streamed down her cheeks in large drops, soaking a large portion of the mask.

She wanted to shake her head and refuse, wanting her son to try harder. However, the doctor said that the fetal position was not proper, and with the mother’s weak body, a smooth delivery was basically a fantasy.

Looking at the blood and flesh gushing from her son’s lower body and the large undulating belly, only she knew what Mu Jin’s decision meant.

Mu Jin’s body was naturally allergic to anaesthetics, and injecting them would cause a severe disorder and weakening of his pheromones, which would be very life-threatening.

“Mum…” the mother struggled internally as Mu Jin struggled to pick up his disorganised consciousness and pleaded in a weak voice.

His heart was clogged, and the pain was like a fierce beast tearing his flesh and blood with its sharp fangs. Strength was lost with the blood in his lower body.

The body was already holding out to the limit…

Mrs Mu finally nodded, and Mu Jin collapsed onto the delivery bed. His half-open eyes were as clear as ever, with a ray of pleased watery light frozen beneath them. Both hands hung helplessly at his side.
