I Became A System

Chapter 82 - The Cave

The cruelty... If someone normal sees this one, they would think that Ellena should seek help from experts to fix her problem. Nonetheless, this isn't something to be scared of.

I want Ellena to survive in this world to do my purpose. However, it doesn't mean that I want her to succumb to evil. This is necessary as she also knew it.

I didn't suggest this to her. She did it on her own accord. I think she knew that killing him would be appropriate than letting him live.

It is not just because the bastard can request to authorities and try to twist the fact. Who knows how his group moves. Maybe they are also significant symbols in the underworld.

And if someone wants Ellena dead, we can just deal with it when it's in front of us. We don't have any clue in the first place so being bothered is just the same as being afraid of ghosts.

I could only sigh in relief that Ellena is trying to be practical. Pity is not everything for her morals.

"So, it became more problematic. I thought that I just have to gain some reputation in the guild but it resulted in envy of a certain individual." Ellena mumbled as she cleaned the dirt sticking to her sleeves.

"Yeah... That didn't come out from what I expected. It might be true that they wanted power for themselves and you're a hindrance for them." I said.

Ellena just made an awkward laugh. "If that's the case... I could fight more right? Fighting is enjoyable."

I slapped my forehead after hearing it. Really? Ellena is starting to become a battle junkie? No way...

It's not a problem if she likes fighting that much. But I hope it won't become a problem with her decision-making.

"Why do you like fighting?" I asked as I was concerned that she might have made a problem with her brain.

As the brain has always been a problematic matter to handle back on Earth, I wouldn't be surprised if I can't assess Ellena's well-being.

I'm also starting to get a hard grasp of Ellena's personality. If this continues, our connection will weaken.

Ellena made a dazing look at me. She wondered for a short moment then answered my question.

"Well, it moves my limbs and I started liking physical activities unlike in the past. I think fighting improves my stamina so practicing always makes me feel lighter every time I fight," she said with an enthusiastic voice.

So, it was like that? I'm relieved that her reason was not that she likes blood. It would be problematic.

"Okay... I understand." I shrugged then rest on her head.

"Ay... My rest was intervened. I'll just move to another place and I will continue to survive here. Maybe there's no monster right now but later on, it will be hectic," she said before leaving the corpse of the ambusher.

I don't mind leaving him. I don't feel pity for him as I barely sympathize with other people. And as for that matter, my emotions are solely for Ellena and I can not think of anything selfish.

After a few minutes of searching for a place to rest, we saw a small cave near a river.

The place looks comfortable and has fewer threats. But the only problem is it might be cold inside.

Ah! It's okay! We could just make another fire for a bonfire. It's not a problem for her since she already knew how to make a fire.

Sighs... Ellena should also study basic magic. This is an important matter to learn too.

If it's me, I would surely study magic even my rune is not suitable for magic. Because why not? It's another tier of knowledge and even it is useless, I could still use it or bestow that knowledge to others.

Knowledge is important. That's my motto and my life's moral. That can not be removed from my system.

"Look! A cave!" Ellena pointed to the cave. I nodded at her to agree with her.

"Yup. So, let's gooooo..."

My enthusiasm was cut when I notice an aura inside the cave. It's quite a violent nature. There's a creature living in the cave.

Why did it not pop up in my head?! That's a simple survival lesson that I already knew. If you are new at a place, be sure to see if someone is already dwelling there. If hostile, be wary or leave. It's just those two.

But of course, this isn't Earth. It would become three. Be wary or leave, either stay and fight. That's the other one right now.

Ellena's expression matched up with mine. So, I can guess that she also felt the aura coming from the cave.

Even if I can't feel a presence, the aura would be my alternative. As for the reason why I can feel auras, I don't know for sure if it's about the level up. Maybe it's always there that I just noticed later.

"Aaron, is it not bad if I try to steal this place from the creature that already lives inside?"

Hm?

I instinctively faced her.

"Depends. If they are not reasonable creatures, it's not a problem." I shrugged.

"I see... So, if I steal this place, I am merely fighting for the property. A clash of two individuals is not uncommon even in human society. And since this is wilderness, I don't have to apply my morals." She said before she started moving near the entrance of the cave.

Wow... I'm proud of you Ellena. You're becoming more of a practical and mature person. I'm happy.

Ellena took her sword from her belt, making a metallic whistle in the surrounding. The creature inside the cave started to appear before Ellena, showing the glaring red eyes.

Ellena breathed out as when she started to step inside the cave, the creature roared in fury and showed its whole body.

The creature was a bear? But it's not a normal bear so should I consider this an animal or still a monster? Wow... I'm having a hard time.

This world also has different varieties of animals and seeing a different one should not be considered as a monster.

But it's just the case for me... As I am ignorant of this world's wilderness, I should practice calling unique animals to my eyes as animals themselves and not a monster.

Maybe the boar earlier wasn't really a boar but a different variety of an animal....
