The Blue Eyes

Chapter 69 - SELENA BEISCHEL

"Professor Selena Beischel? What was she doing? Didn't she die in the explosion?" Mike curiously asked Professor Joseph, who had just made a surprising statement.

"I thought so." Joseph's expression was cold and full of anger. "I thought my wife had died from the explosion seventeen years ago, but it seems too weird. Her body was not found, same as me, who also faked my death in the explosion. I was so stupid that I didn't see that possibility."

Mike was shocked hearing Joseph's explanation. Blue, who was already in a stable state, was also listening carefully.

Selena Beischel and Joseph Beischel. She had heard the two names before. They were scientists who had sacrificed themselves during the war seventeen years ago. They were also Kevin Beischel's biological parents.

Little by little, anger began to establish in Blue's heart. She couldn't imagine how Kevin would feel if the man found out about the reality. All this time, Kevin had missed his biological parents so much and was grieving over their death. But, what was it? They just pretended to be dead and left him alone in the orphanage.

"Selena knew about the formula, also knew about the mega-project BLUE10122021. She must have modified the formula I injected into this girl so that the formula lost its effectiveness and the power that was embedded in this girl's body was reduced considerably. That woman was cunning. Now I understand why she looked braver and dared to argue with me the last time we met before the explosion. She had planned this all along."

Joseph's face was completely messy. His jaw tightened, his hands were clenched tightly, and his wrinkled face flushed with anger. Everything he had planned for seventeen years turned out to be fruitless, of course, he was very disappointed.

"Then, what should we do with this kid?" Mike asked again as his sharp eyes glanced slightly at the poor girl.

Joseph sighed as he gave the girl an unreadable look. "Kill her." Those were the two words that came out of his lips, which now looked paler than before.

Everyone looked shocked to hear the order given by the professor. Blue's condition was the worst. The girl's blue eyes were perfectly rounded and her facial expression radiated great fear. She thought it was finally over after the criminals' plan failed, but she was wrong. They wanted to end her life after the plan failed.

Mike looked surprised as well. "Are you sure? But, this kid still has power even though it's not as strong as we imagine. Aren't we still able to use it?" The werewolf leader asked.

"Her power is useless," Joseph quickly replied. "Her power is just ordinary. She can't shapeshift, and the formula inside her body lost its real effectiveness. I can't use it to give you eternal life. She should die."

It looked like the professor's decision was final and couldn't be changed. Mike decided to quickly motion Jack to do what the professor ordered. Jack looked doubtful. He repeatedly looked at Blue and Mike, but Mike nodded his head so steadily at him that he had no other choice.

Although he was unsure of the decision made by Joseph, Jack slowly began to transform into a 2 meter-tall werewolf monster that looked ruthless and started walking toward Blue, getting ready to prey on the girl.

Blue was even more frightened after she saw another form of Jack Madris. This was the first time she saw such a werewolf monster. It was like a giant wolf walking upright on two legs. It looked like a monster she usually only saw on television. The monster looked hungry and wanted to eat her. Blue knew very well that Jack liked human flesh very much, so she was sure that Jack would not hesitate to eat her alive.

The blue-eyed girl felt a sense of urgency and was scared to death. She tried to move her body to break free from the chains that bound her, but the effort was futile. The chain was confining her tightly. Continuing to move in rebellion only made her body injured.

Even so, the round-eyed girl didn't just give up. Blue continued to try hard, trying to use the strength within her body. Earlier, she had overheard Joseph and Mike talking and was able to pick up some important information from them. Some of the important information she obtained included that she couldn't turn into a werewolf, but she still had power in her body. True, she could still make use of the power.

Blue tried to revive the power that had completely become part of her body. After trying hard, the blue-eyed girl was finally able to control her fully awakened power. Her blue aura glowed again. Her fangs and fingernails lengthened and became sharp again.

With full strength, she tried to break the chains that bound her body and limbs, and finally, the chains were destroyed due to the immense force that she could control perfectly.

Blue's face was fierce and angry. Her blue eyes lit up brightly. Her expression looked like that of a raging girl. The werewolves were on their guard to see the girl's transformation. Even though it was said that Blue's power was not as great as expected, in their eyes, Blue's power was still great.

Mike and Joseph looked stunned at how much change had happened to the girl. Perhaps, Blue's eagerness to survive contributed to the girl's immense strength.

"Jack, hurry and kill that kid before she messes up here!" Mike frantically gave the order to his loyal subordinate.

Jack heard the order. After he growled loudly, he walked quickly toward Blue.

Blue was currently in a fully conscious state, and suddenly a bitter memory from the past appeared in her mind. She remembered the time she viciously killed five thugs at once. From then on, Blue promised herself that she would try her best to control her power so that it wouldn't take any more casualties. Now, she expected the same. She didn't want to kill anyone even though her current opponent was a werewolf.

No, Blue didn't want to kill anyone. She just wanted to get away from the island. She wanted to run away. She wanted to go home.

That was when the girl suddenly remembered the words spoken by the head of the orphanage before she left the orphanage with Kris:

["Blue, if one day you feel scared and need a place to go home, don't hesitate to come back to the orphanage. The door will always be open for you, and I will always welcome you with open arms."]

Blue kept chanting the word 'go home' in her head, imagining the orphanage that had been her home for nearly seventeen years. She wanted to go home, to go back to the orphanage, to meet Mother Monica, also to meet Kevin. Yes, Blue wanted to go home!

And, suddenly, Blue's figure disappeared. Jack, who was preparing to attack her, stopped moving because his target suddenly vanished into thin air.

All the creatures in that place were stunned by the unexpected event, which was happening right before their eyes. They couldn't believe what they saw.

"This is impossible. Why did that girl suddenly disappear?" Mike asked in a low voice that resembled a whisper. His body went limp instantly upon seeing Blue disappeared right before his eyes. "What power does that brat have?" He continued asking weakly.

"Teleportation," Joseph replied quietly. "It turns out that Selena found a formula that could modify the human body to manipulate the spatial dimension. I remember that we wanted to create the ability so badly, but we never succeeded. It turns out she lied to me. It turns out she had found the formula."

Joseph laughed bitterly. His lips were laughing, but his eyes were depressed. He felt that he had been cheated and betrayed by his own wife.

"It turns out that Selena didn't modify the formula I prepared for Blue. It turns out she used new formula she invented herself to put into Blue's body seventeen years ago. She deliberately made fun of me." This time, Joseph not only chuckled, but he laughed loudly as if laughing at himself, who had been defeated by the woman he loved for decades.

"If Professor Selena used her own invented formula, then the formula that you created seventeen years ago for the BLUE10122021 mega-project still exists, right?" Mike asked.

Mike's question stopped the professor's sad laughter. He looked at Mike seriously. "You're right." He agreed with Mike's guess. "Where did Selena keep the formula?"

Mike was speechless. He couldn't guess where the female professor was hiding the formula that Professor Joseph created seventeen years ago.

Jack, who had now returned to his human form, also thinking about the answer to the professor's question. He had never met Professor Selena before, but there seemed to be something strange about all of this.

The power that Joseph and Mike wanted must be similar to the power possessed by Blue so that the two men had mistaken Blue's power. It seemed that he had seen someone who had almost the same power as Blue. Blue eyes and blue aura. Yes, he had seen it before.

"It looks like I know where Professor Selena kept the formula." Joseph and Mike suddenly turned to Jack after the young man spoke up. "She kept it in the body of a young man named Kevin."

Hearing a familiar name, Joseph reflexively asked, "Kevin? Do you mean Kevin Beischel?"
