The Latest Game Is Too Amazing

Episode 61: Suspected Hero 2

When you log in, a character appears where you previously logged out. That was the room that was assigned to me while I was staying in Maukt. It's a private room, and I'm the only one in this room.

I rented a separate room from Vuivre. Well, it seems to be a long time since I've seen a room where men and women are the same age.

We're both not in the room at night, so there can't be any problems.

Vuivre is as tentative as I am, and I have to get back to the main unit. There is no need to rent a room, but it is called as a guest, and it is decided not to reveal the circumstances of being a different person from the rest of the world, and that Vuivre will be in the room during his stay in Maukt due to circumstances that do not allow him to disclose his identity publicly.

Then I logged in and felt uncomfortable in the room.

The rooms are only the ones I tentatively rent to make my surroundings aware that I'm spending time in while I'm staying. That's why the conditioner barely touched my hand. Especially when it comes to beds.

However, unlike yesterday, there are signs that the table, bed, etc. are slightly off. I soon found out if it was because I spent a few days in this room.

Did someone come in while he was gone? But basically I can tell no one to come in while I'm staying. So it's hard to think that someone will come into the room on their own without saying no.

It is possible that the maid came in for the cleaning, but will she come in silently? But if it's just cleaning, I don't feel like I need to do a big thing about moving tables and beds.

It's kind of creepy. I can't believe they're ruining my room while I'm gone. Am I not wondering that you are not here?

There must be guard soldiers near the room. I might be looking at someone breaking into the room.

I thought so and went outside but for some reason there were no soldiers.

Taking a break, or is it time for a change? I can't even be on guard at four or six. Still, I feel careless about being deserted.

I can't help what's not there. I'll put it behind me for now and go to Vuivre's room.

I go to Vuivre's room and knock, but apparently Vuivre hasn't arrived yet and I haven't heard back.

I don't have a choice. Let's pull into the room until Vuivre gets here.

"Ah."

I ran into an unexpected person.

The one who was walking with your wife was a noble lady who seemed willing to call herself Alexia's friend, who was at that ball.

Today she has an atmosphere of strong mind lurking and seemingly sinking. When you look at my face, you circle your eyes. Her face gradually catches on. You must still be with me and they're awkward.

I did something I couldn't grow up with that night. Though she also did bad things, the thought of doing more than that occupied her chest. Because I hit my anger for something that had nothing to do with her directly and I wanted to back off. I want to apologize directly to her for that.

That's when I met her. Is this also heavenly destiny? It's just the right opportunity, and let's stop her and apologize.

I think so. I approach her.

Then she was frightened, not so much so that her servants were frightened, too.

I can also snort that I have a bad impression because I had a bad attitude before, but when I am so frightened by a girl about Alexia's age, I feel shivers and guilt. I wonder how scared I was.

"Eh? Um?

When she is confused by the other person's reaction, she begins to cry.

"Yu, forgive me......! I'm sorry I bullied Alexia...! So!"

"What?"

I'm glad you've changed your mind, but even if you're so frightened. Even though I'm not going to retaliate at all.

"So don't kill me......!

"What?"

Don't kill me? What is she talking about?

"Ha, help me! Somebody kill somebody!

As if she had encountered a life-threatening emergency, she pointed at me and raised a golden cut that echoed around her.

The tense scream became a calling water, and the guards who were nearby rushed in.

"Oh, wait a minute!

Guards interrupt to protect the noble lady. And I was surrounded by the guards.

The guards are sticking their spears at me and staring at me with a harsh eye. Obviously not the behavior towards the Guest.

What the hell is this all about? ⁉

Caios was captured by soldiers from the Kingdom of Castal. Rosline, the queen of the Union of Communes, has revealed her anger when asked why. Rosline disputes Raphael, the knight of the Kingdom of Castal.

Vuivre had a strange view of such a sight. She showed up at the Royal Palace after Kaios was captured because she had no idea what was going on.

"Kaios committed the murder ⁉ that can't be right!

Roslyne's voice echoes. Raphael spoke calmly with a painful face.

"Her Majesty Queen Roslyne. I understand what you're trying to say. I can't think of him committing such a murder, either. But there was a witness who saw Caius during the night's crime."

Roslene asked Raphael, the girl who was somewhat calm and dressed.

"Is that true, Lord Rafael"

"Unfortunately, the killer jumped the guard at that time and could not be seized because he had fled. It was midnight, but the guards still seemed to have witnessed the killer. Look at the thunderous killer. Witnesses have testified that he is a brunette boy, wearing a black robe. The features of its appearance are consistent with Lord Kaios'. I don't know if I can think of it as a mistake."

Raphael lay his eyes down. If that is true, it will be a decisive testimony that will not escape. But given Kaios' character, he's not the kind of person who would commit murder. I really couldn't believe that word to Roslene.

"But isn't it sudden to wear a black robe and assert that it's just a dark-haired boy and it's a caios? Instead of facial features, if it's the color of clothes or hair, it could be someone else."

"This is the royal palace. The average person is not allowed to enter easily, and there have been no reports of someone being broken in from the outside. And when he becomes a brunette boy among the visitors, he's the only one. Dark hair is so rare in this country."

I understood that, too, Roslene. Dark-haired exotics are also rare in the Union of Communes. It is difficult to believe that people who fall under such conditions roam the royal palace so conveniently.

"Most importantly, since the crime was committed, we have been checking Lord Caios' room. He wasn't in the room. And no one saw him anywhere else during the time of the crime."

Roslyne also had a verse that came to mind. Kaios suddenly disappears. This was often the case when I was in the Union of Communes.

"Kaios is a foreigner. There must be few people on the fringe of this land. Not to mention I don't know myself in the royal palace. Caius has no motive."

Kaios has also stayed in the Kingdom of Castal, but has extremely little friendship. Havok and his fellow adventurers.

Contrary to such expectations, Raphael shook his head.

"Unfortunately, the victim who was murdered is also not irrelevant to Lord Caios, Your Majesty. The person killed is one of our country's ministers. This is a glimpse of Lord Caius and the king, and it's in the question that he asked Lord Caius."

Roslene also knows that someone made a disrespectful remark about Caios.

"You don't think that's the motive for the crime?

But the motive for the crime is too weak. Though Kaios himself was sick of it, he didn't seem to care that much about them.

"The victim was openly oblivious to Lord Kaios. He seemed to expose his country to shame, but he seemed to have spoken other than to look at it. I happen to hear it and wonder if it touched Lord Caios' scales."

"Isn't it premature to treat that as a motive"

"Even when Lord Caios was found and seized earlier, he was caught in front of an aristocratic courtier in the Weixel Empire who had a grudge with Lord Caios at the ball. Even the lady was concerned that she had bought Lord Kaios' wrath. Murder this time in it. She was terribly scared to find out that the killer might be Lord Kaios. And I met Lord Caios at the arrowhead where he tried to be intolerably returned home. She thought she was going to be attacked next, and she went half-freak in front of her, and she called in a guard."

He appeared in front of someone who could be the victim of the next offense, and was caught in the worst of circumstances, which would be misinterpreted as extending to the offense. That makes my mind feel significantly worse about Kaios. Roslene held her head.

"There are also many puzzling mysteries about this case. The guard in front of Lord Caius's room has not witnessed him leaving the room after he returned to his room. And the guard in front of the victim's room hasn't even witnessed where he broke into the victim's room. I didn't witness the moment of the crime. But there are also eyewitnesses immediately after the crime, and no matter how much credit he has for the circumstantial evidence we have so far, we have to question him."

Kaios is a famous magician. Moreover, I have a deep relationship with Rosline, queen of the Union of Communes. I can't detain him on mere suspicion. I'm guessing he even stepped out of custody because of decisive eyewitness testimony saying he escaped from the murder scene.

"At least if I knew where Lord Caius was last night, I'd clear his suspicions."

Unless you can prove where he was or that it was someone else's crime, your suspicions about him will never clear up.

"How is Kaios doing? Weren't they caught in prison?"

He is suspected of murdering the kingdom's subjects. Moreover, having witnesses, it is not surprising that they are treated almost as sinners. I couldn't have treated such a person on an equal footing with a Guest like before.

Roslene suppresses her trembling voice and asks Raphael.

"Don't worry. It's not prison he's in. I'm in a room in a certain room. It may be inconvenient because it is not a room, but we take the utmost care. It seems that Master Alexia, who knew he was suspected and showed himself to him, is on his side. He is also a benefactor of this castal. Not everyone suspects him of being the killer."

Raphael, the chief of the Knights, is strict on his men to never treat Kaios as a sinner. This is not just a consideration for the Union of Communes, which is deeply related to Caius, but because he himself has no certainty, but there are many mysteries about this case that he thought were not the culprits.

If it is true that Kaios made him recruit hatred and extend it to the crime, it is he who is the first to be suspected. Moreover, the guards have witnessed its appearance at the scene of the crime.

He fled until he pushed the guards and returned to the royal palace to attack another. If you have serious thoughts, it's normal to keep going before you get caught. Yet it is a contradictory action of any kind, such as purposefully showing up at the royal palace where the crime has been committed and where there is strict vigilance.

Despite the prudence and planning of sneaking into the victim's room so the guards wouldn't find him, unplanned motives for impulsive murder and returning to the royal palace again. It was a good enough reason to make me think that Kaios might not be the killer.

"Regardless, you will stay in the room until the suspicion clears up. Lord Kaios can use metastatic magic. I am temporarily keeping my cane just in case, putting soldiers on it and monitoring it, but I would like to take note of this. Otherwise, you won't be convinced to question Lord Caius."

"Is that so?"

Roslyne was relieved.

Although it is inconvenient not to escape the eyes of surveillance for four or six hours on top of being held under house arrest in a room, it would have been better to have taken due account of the suspected charges.

It will strengthen the cramping, but we do not want Kaios to spoil and accept the status quo until the killer is caught and the suspicion clears up.

The entrance and exit from the royal palace are already sealed off. The same goes for the town of Maukt. People with uncertain identities are not allowed in or out. If you're lucky, the killer might be caught by the end of the day. It is warm enough if it is normal.

But for Kaios, it was fatal.

Finally swallowing things up, Vuivre sighed inside knowing all the circumstances.

She knows best that Kaios is not the killer. Because Kaios is a different world, and he knows he's back in the other world in the middle of the night. He couldn't have committed murder in another world.

If we find the real killer soon, we'll have no problem. But what would happen if the real killer could not be found like this?

Perhaps Kaios will remain under house arrest for a long time. Kaios should have a soldier on watch for 24 hours.

Kaios' body in this world is only the provisional first body, not his own. Kaios' real body is in another world.

Humans have menstrual phenomena such as diet and drainage. I can't get rid of them with this tentative first body. If it's a short time, it's fine, but if it's a long time, it's a different story. Even Vuivre could easily have imagined that perhaps one day we would meet our limits.

What kind of commotion would it be if Kaios persisted in disappearing from this world, taking its limits under this circumstance?

If you raise only the facts, the house arrest suspect, who is believed to have committed the murder, disappears in front of the soldiers you are watching.

This could take Caios away for fear of being tried for murder. I will no longer be able to open the application. Kaios has turned from a hero to a murderer quickly.

It would be easier if I could explain.

Unfortunately, the Roslines don't know that Kaios is a different world. It can't even be easier to uncover than he's keeping it a secret.

"Oh lords"

The gaze around me gathers to Vuivre. I guess the Roslines are also interested in finding the real killer. But there is a sign that a human being is in a position. The lack of such marks is about me.

(Then the concubine will have to find it. The real killer.)

"Can I help you find that killer?

"Lady Rafael, are you sure?

"I don't mind, I got permission."

The soldier, who was in the room where the incident occurred for the preservation of the scene, asked Raphael with a puzzled look.

Now there's a girl in this room who doesn't look familiar where there's been a tragic incident, and she's looking around the room.

She - Maelis is one of the guests from the Commune and is close to Kaios, the suspect in the case. To be considered an associate of Caius, he cannot be involved in the investigation because he may lack the fear or fairness to carry out a disguise operation that has nothing to do with the case.

This is a natural measure. In the first place, this is the Kingdom of Kastal, and we cannot possibly have the authority to investigate the case, apart from the security guardians of this country.

This is also why faces like Roslene and Alexia, who believe in Kaios' innocence, can't move.

I have those concerns, but the soldiers are therefore advising Raphael.

Only a very small number of people know who Maelis is Vuivre. That includes Raphael. Consequently, I granted permission to the King.

This wasn't simply because I feared it would spoil the girl's mood.

"Sometimes we still haven't figured out how the killer broke into the room. Honestly, the investigation is done. Maybe it'll lead to progress in the investigation."

As a matter of fact, the investigation remains stuck. There are many puzzling points, but too many eyewitnesses. I don't have enough evidence to overturn that. If she's not human, she'll find a clue that we missed. That's what I thought.

"Of course I'm not letting her investigate alone. I'm with you. Indoor behavior will be monitored. I also want Lord Maelis to promise me. Do not touch anything that is in the room. If you behave suspiciously, it will lead to the suspicion of Lord Kaios."

Raphael's tone was also serious. I will not allow you to be involved in an investigation with half my thoughts. The thought is expressed in tone. So Maelice also stared back at Raphael with a serious eye.

"I know, I appreciate it. But it doesn't seem to have been vandalized where the murder took place."

There are signs that someone was there, but there is no indication that the room has been vandalized. I can't imagine where the murder took place last night. There is a clean glass of water on the table that is not mixed up. Did the victim himself drink it?

"That's for sure. Perhaps the killer broke in while the victim was asleep. The victim also died instantly from the circumstances. I guess I couldn't resist. I checked the victim's body, too, but he fell near the bed."

When Vuivre looks out for the bed, the blanket is disturbed as to whether someone was using it. It seems true that the victim was asleep. The body has already been moved elsewhere.

"So does it not mean that murder was not the purpose and that you came here to steal something?

"It's possible, but there was no sign that we were looking for anything. Considering we went first to the victim, it wasn't just stealing. Of course, we can assume he woke up the victim to find out where he was, although he tried to steal it. There is a guard nearby. Do you imitate the noise?"

When it comes to sneaking into a heavily guarded royal palace and working to steal it, you should try to steal something of extra value. But it is easier and more sensible to find a treasure of value than to steal something from a victim under one's command.

"You don't even know how the killer broke in."

"The corridor is guarded by guards. It is impossible to break in through the door. But it's hard to break in through the window."

Questioning what it meant, Vuivre looked at the window. It should have been raining, but the window is slightly open. I found it odd that there might be rain coming in the room through the window but I didn't close the window, but the reason Raphael assured me was clear. Even if we could open the window from the outside, the window was too narrow for people to go through. This is the same even if the window was fully open.

But Vuivre glanced out at the window.

"Don't stink."

"What is it?

"No, I just want to think a little bit. Because I can't remember a bit. I said it's hard to break in through the window, but could it have broken in through the window?

"It's dry now, but the floor showed wet signs. It's raining last night. Didn't the killer break in some way from the outside?"

"It would be impossible for a normal person to enter through that gap."

There are guards at the entrance and exit, and it's impossible to break in through the window. It is a kind of clandestine murder.

"That's why I can't think of any ordinary means. Perhaps there's some trick to keep the guards from noticing, but unfortunately, I can't grasp the modus operandi of the crime. At the beginning and end of the day, some people suspect that it might have magically broken in. It's not that easy."

Those who suspect Kaios seem to suspect that Kaios used magic to commit the crime. But I can't figure out the exact M.O. of how I broke into the Chamber, and it's slightly too forceful to put Kaios under house arrest on suspicion at an unknown point.

"Of course, if that's all, I can't be sure Lord Caios is the killer. Lord Kaios was never suspected. Again, the decisive thing is that we have a witness who saw him."

"Was it the guard who witnessed it? There's no chance I misjudged the killer, is there?

"As I told Her Majesty Queen Roslyne, there is no one in this royal palace who resembles Lord Caios. And even though the guards missed it, there are many that have witnessed its appearance. He is very prominent among the guests invited to the royal palace. It's hard to assume that all the witnesses saw it wrong. Then it would be in person, but personally, I don't think Lord Kaios would commit murder."

It turns out that Vuivre said Raphael had to suspect Kaios. Due to numerous eyewitness testimonies, Kaios' position is tougher than Vuivre thought. Perhaps that is the purpose of the killer.

"If the killer is Lord Kaios, he snuck into the room so the guards wouldn't notice him, and he seems to think the victim noticed him and screamed. But if the killer impersonated Lord Kaios, that's not the point. The scream of the victim may have caused the victim to make a scene so that the killer could see it and attract the attention of the guards."

By daring to call guards and make witnesses, he impersonates Kaios with the crime of murder. The only way to prove your innocence is to find the killer. At the most time, we were unable to identify who imitated Kaios.

"I told you the victim was an instant death, but how was he killed?

"I had a broken neck bone. The body was so twisted that its face turned to its back that it probably pursued it with considerable force. That would be instant death."

Vuivre felt a strong discomfort in the words of Raphael.

"Is it such an easy thing to break a man's neck bone?

"It's hard to twist it anyway if even a tough guy breaks his neck bone. Is it not possible that you used magic?

The victim is an adult male whose physique is what the average person is. It's not easy to break a neck bone. Rafael guessed that's why he used magic.

"No, that's possible, too."

Vuivre points to the wall and the floor.

"Magic has five attributes: fire, water, wind, earth, and nothing. If it's just a broken neck bone, the body should burn if you use the magic of fire, water, or earthly attributes, leaving some trace of ice, water, or ground. Then we'll have to use wind or unattributed magic. Then you can use magic in this closed room that's so powerful that it twists and bends as far as your face goes to your back, it's gonna get rough in the room no matter what."

If magic is powerful, so is its aftermath. If you use it in a closed room, it is because of the aftermath that the glass and water drain on the table blow up in the room, and there must be traces of the use of magic such as cracks in the walls and floors. But there are no more signs of people arguing in the room than I suspect that Vuivre was the scene of the murder.

"If you used magic, it wouldn't be strange if something was sounding. The guards haven't heard anything?

"No, I just heard the victim scream"

"Thinking about it, I guess I still broke my neck bone directly."

Only a few, but I saw the light. At least the modus operandi of the crime is difficult in luxurious Kaios. A person who is strong enough to twist and bend the bones of his neck becomes the killer.

"In that case, it's likely that the killer was impersonating Lord Kaios."

"It reminds me of a vampire when it comes to impersonation."

The vampire case was also strongly impressive on Rafael.

"Vampires can easily twist and bend human necks with strength. but vampire impersonation turns the target person into a blood sucker and a family member. Then Lord Caios becomes a vampire. We looked into that, too, but at least he wasn't a vampire. It can't be the work of a vampire."

There were also events in the Commune, and there was suspicion that Kaios was also a vampire. But the result is white. At least Caios had proven not to be a vampire.

"How dare you get caught?"

"Lord Kaios' appearance stands out easily. If the killer's appearance resembles that of a witness so much that he missaw him, then I think if we were in this maukt, we'd realize who it is."

"Were there any reports of people similar to Kaios?

Raphael shook his head.

"I suspected first, but there are no such reports. It is very recently that the examination was laid down to combat vampires, at least before the signing ceremony date was decided. Lord Kaios decided to visit Maukt on the same day that the signing ceremony was scheduled. Assuming the killer impersonated Lord Kaios, the killer would have been lurking in this maukt long before he laid down his interrogation."

If Raphael's hypothesis is certain, even though the visit of Kaios has not been finalized, the killer would have been lurking in Maukt all along to impersonate Kaios. That's too uncertain to be a waste of time.

"There are other problems. The culprit must have snuck into the royal palace more than no one similar to Lord Kaios has been found in the royal palace. In other words, it is the muscle that considers it an external human offense. The royal palace is surrounded by walls and there are guards at the entrance and exit of the royal palace. The killer would have snuck into the royal palace unnoticed by the guards in some way. It may not be more convincing than the fact that the escaping killer did it to you."

"You mean it's not easy to sneak into the royal palace or escape?"

If it extends to the offense at such a risk, it is easier to commit the offense by someone who was inside the royal palace. That point is also a factor in the suspicion that Kaios is the killer.

"He said he lost sight of the killer, but he escaped from the royal palace?

"At least there are no external guard sightings and no signs of going outside the royal palace. I ran away from the royal palace, and I hunted him down to the end, but he seems to have disappeared."

"End of story? No place to hide?

"At the end of the day there is a room, and there is only one door to that room. The only way out of there was to change the way it was. I mean, you can't go through avoiding the guards. The killer who escaped into the room disappeared momentarily when he escaped from the eyes of the guard he was tracking. Inside the room was a mushroom shell, and the killer was so wet that there were traces of water on the floor. It's too soon to use metastatic magic to escape. I searched the room for traces of the killer, but I couldn't find them. How the hell did the killer break in and disappear?"

A disgraced killer who appears suddenly. I'm pretty sure the killer is using an intrusion route that the guards won't find when he breaks into Maukt's royal palace and kills a dignitary. Even if the entrance and exit of the royal palace, the walls of the castle, are sealed with guards, it is a delicate place for the guards to catch the killer. In the worst case scenario, it wasn't strange to have used that path to escape from Maukt instead of leaving the royal palace anymore.

Because what impersonated Kaios was to dress him up for murder, and Kaios has already accomplished his purpose because he has been captured by soldiers.

"Why don't you take the killer to where he was last witnessed?

"I understand. This way."

Time is running out. I had to find something that would lead to the killer at all costs.
