Luo Shuyan wasn’t in a hurry to get out of bed. She sat up and started to carefully recall the contents of her dream.

Actually, the novel was quite weird. It was split into two books. The first book was extremely interesting, whereas the second half of the novel was absolutely trash.

The first book described the success story of Luo Tianyuan’s business endeavors. Luo Tianyuan had obtained a small fortune while being a middleman seller in university. Later on, he happened to see an advertisement for warrants in Shanghai. As someone who had quite a good understanding of the financial market, he immediately realized that this was a good opportunity. Thus, he used all his savings, around tens of thousands, to buy the warrant. Through this, he managed to earn more than a few hundred thousand in profit; it is worth noting that this was during the era when others were envious of those who had more than a few thousand in their bank accounts.

He dared to do what he wanted to, and was never scared of failure. He opened a clothing factory in Shenzhen, and employed one of his ex-girlfriends from high school to be the main fashion designer. This lady loved designing clothes from a young age, and her designs were outstanding. Her family members all said that she was out of her mind, and Luo Tianyuan was the only one who admired her talent and respected her. She saw Luo Tianyuan as her savior and was still willing to work for him after becoming famous.

The clothing brand soon spread its wings and made it big on a global scale; they had multiple joint ventures with international brands and were making a hefty profit.

After that, Luo Tianyuan established a real estate company and an entertainment company. He even invested in an internet related business. He was very good at spotting companies to invest in, and by the end of the first book, his net worth was more than CNY10 billion.

He was a legend in the business sector; he managed to turn his life around — from a poor university student to a billionaire within 12 years.

Though, Luo Tianyuan’s life had been too smooth sailing. Thus, in the second book, the author allowed a major setback to happen to him, which was the death of his precious daughter.

After the death of his daughter, Luo Tianyuan grew to hate the world. Even after he rose from the ashes again, his daughter was something that he could never get over. Even the female protagonist didn’t dare to mention the name of his daughter.

The reception of the second book wasn’t very good, and it was likely due to the overly depressive tone of the book. Since the book didn’t sell well, the author lost motivation and ended the story hastily. In the end, Luo Tianyuan never remarried, and neither did he have any other children of his own.

— End of the flashback.

Luo Shuyan was in a daze. She didn’t believe that her dream was real, and no one in the right mind would think that a dream was reality anyway. However, she wasn’t sure why but she was getting goosebumps on her arm.

She stood up and got out of bed, wore her slippers, and opened the door. However, she was shocked by what she saw and took a few steps back.

Luo Tianyuan was rolled up in the foldable mattress. He immediately sat up and was met with his daughter’s round eyes. He ruffled his hair and smiled at her, “Good morning sweetheart.”

Luo Shuyan was confused, “Papa, why are you sleeping here?”

“I think I drank a bit too much.” Luo Tianyuan sat up and hugged the pillow and blanket. He promptly kept the foldable bed away and turned to his daughter, “Did I scare you?”

Luo Shuyan shook her head and said, “It’s alright Papa, did you drink yesterday?”

“There was a company gathering.” Luo Tianyuan lied through his teeth, he didn’t want to let his daughter know the truth.

……

Luo Tianyuan came out from the toilet and saw his daughter packing her bags. He paused for a moment before approaching her. “Aunty Shen told me everything yesterday. Are you feeling better today? Should Papa take you to the doctor’s? Get the doctor to prescribe some medication to calm your nerves?”

He didn’t want to mention whatever that had happened the day before because he was worried that this would trigger bad memories.

Luo Tianyuan didn’t know that the issue bothering his daughter at the moment wasn’t about the tragedy from the day before, instead, it was because of the dream that she had.

She wasn’t sure if the Luo Tianyuan she dreamt about was really her father, and if she will die just like in her dreams.

“It’s okay.” Luo Shuyan didn’t take up his offer. She didn’t like the feeling of being in the hospital because she’d frequented the place a bit too often when she was younger. “I’m not going to the hospital.”

Luo Tianyuan didn’t insist for her to visit the hospital since she seemed mentally stable, however…

“Skip school for today. I’ll give your class teacher a call. Papa will take a day off from work as well and accompany you for the day. How does that sound?”

Luo Shuyan was stunned.

There was a reason why she cared so much about the dream. Many details in real life that no one else knew about were revealed in her dreams. This made it all the more realistic and scary.

All is said and done, there was no reason for her to live in fear. She had to find evidence about the legitimacy of her dream; just like what she’d done a few days ago to prove that her father was indeed very wealthy.

Luo Shuyan immediately thought of something to do. She held onto the beautiful pencil box and softly said, “Papa, you still have to go to work right? Why don’t you bring me along?”

“Coming to work with me?” Luo Tianyuan questioned. “But there’s no TV at Papa’s workplace, you’ll be bored.”

“It’s alright, I’m happy as long as I’m with you.”

Luo Shuyan was more mature than most children her age. However, she couldn’t sit in the office the whole day. Luo Tianyuan had brought her along with him to work in the past and after half a day, she started to whine about wanting to go home.

What caused his daughter’s sudden interest?

Luo Tianyuan was someone who would do whatever his daughter wanted, so, even though he knew that she would end up whining to leave halfway through the workday, he agreed with her request and brought her along to work.
